We are seeking an experienced, innovative and qualified Learning Support Teacher in our Secondary School, initially working with students in Years 7-9, for a 0.7 to full time role. Ideally the successful applicant will commence as early as possible in Term 3 2022. The size of the role will be determined through discussion with the successful applicant.

this may mean working with a whole class, group or with individual students </p><p>• Computer literacy skills, with clear knowledge of school computing software </p><p>• Ability and commitment to work as a productive team member exhibiting loyalty and support for colleagues </p><p>• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral </p><p>• Willingness to uphold the Christian mission for the school </p><p>• Well-developed organisational skills </p><p>• Ability to exercise initiative and undertake direction from supervisor </p><p>• Ability to meet deadlines and to manage time effectively </p><p>• An enthusiastic and positive attitude with a calm, approachable disposition </p><p>• A neat and tidy appearance - vital to fitting in with the fabric of the School Community </p><p>• Ability to work positively, harmoniously, and constructively in a team environment </p><p>• A positive attitude and calm approachable disposition </p><p><b>Desirable Criteria </b></p><p>• Skills and motivation to assist teaching staff in a live online environment </p><p>• First Aid Certificate </p><p><b>Roles and Responsibilities and Expectations of a Learning Support Teacher </b></p><p>• Work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to support students with additional needs and identify students who may have specific learning and support requirements </p><p>• Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate teaching programs for students with additional learning and support needs in conjunction with the classroom teacher </p><p>• Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate personalised adjustments, where required, with the classroom teacher, student and/or parent/carer as well as health professionals </p><p>• Provide direct support for students with additional learning and support needs through a range of strategies including within the areas of social integration, language and communication, literacy, numeracy, mental health, behavioural and health recommendations </p><p>• Provide professional advice, support and mentoring to classroom teachers on: </p><ul><li>o How best to cater for the diverse needs within their classrooms, and </li><li>o How to effectively work in partnerships with families to maximise learning opportunities for students </li></ul><p>• Attend IP meetings for students with additional needs </p><p>• Implement transition processes and procedures </p><p>• Have the content knowledge and pedagogical practice to meet the diverse needs of all students </p><p>• Monitor, evaluate and report student progress in key learning areas </p><p>• Implement strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes </p><p>• Supervise a range of student activities including Support and Well-being programs </p><p>• Liaise with the Head of Learning Support to promote, support and restore the well-being of students </p><p>• Willing to undertake processes and guidelines involved with the ‘National Consistent Collection of Data’ </p><p>• Liaise and support relationships with outside agencies to respond to significant support and well-being programs </p><p>• Comply with lawful directions </p><p>• WH&amp;S - In accordance with the Workplace Health &amp;
