We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified individuals to join our college as a Learning Support Officer on a fixed-term part-time contract until December 2022.

<p>St Francis Xavier College is a Catholic College with a 2022 enrolment of over 3300 students which will continue to grow in 2023. </p><p>The College serves families from the parishes of Berwick, Koo Wee Rup, Maryknoll/Iona, Narre Warren and Pakenham under the governance of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL). </p><p>St Francis Xavier College is easily accessed via several major freeways – only 20 minutes from Springvale Road on the M1. </p><p>We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic and suitably qualified individuals to join our college as a Learning Support Officer on a fixed-term part-time contract until December 2022. </p><p>This position supports the College in maintaining its reputation as a leading Catholic Secondary Education College, delivering enhanced learning outcomes to College students. </p><p>This role will involve general interaction with students to support teaching staff on a daily basis. </p><p><b>More specifically, responsible for the following: </b></p><ul><li>Support staff and students during classes in a timely and professional manner </li><li>Maintain a calm and caring atmosphere in the classroom for children with special needs under the direction of the classroom teacher </li><li>Work with funded students and other students with special needs across all school programs. </li><li>Maintain and file accurate records of all contact with parents and service providers </li><li>Assist in the preparation of personal learning plans </li><li>Implement assessment special arrangements/provisions under the direction of the classroom teacher and the Learning Adjustment Leader </li><li>Available for school excursions, overnight camps and other activities as directed or approved by the Learning Adjustment Leader </li></ul><p><b>The successful candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge and traits: </b></p><ul><li>Certificate III in Education Support </li><li>Experience with Microsoft programs </li><li>Punctual and excellent time management skills </li><li>Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team </li><li>Ability to analyse and interpret data </li><li>Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal. </li><li>A full understanding of Child Safety requirements at the College will ensure that learning enhancement programs promote the safety, well-being and inclusion of all children. </li><li>Ability to work 1:1 with students and develop and enhance skills as directed </li><li>Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with students, families, school staff and other services </li><li>Ability to apply personal knowledge and initiative to suggest modifications to educational programs to meet the learning needs of specific students, subject to the approval of the applicable teacher </li><li>Commitment to occupational health and safety </li><li>Understand and follow relevant College policy and government legislation, </li><li>An understanding of and commitment to Catholic education </li></ul><p>Staff are employed under the conditions of the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018.
