Exciting opportunity for an experienced Marketing & Communications Officer

<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marketing &amp; Communications Officer to support and broaden the College’s highly regarded public reputation within the community.</p><p>Using skills in marketing, public relations, and writing in both print and electronic media, the Marketing &amp; Communications Officer serves in an internal capacity working with all departments in the school as well as in an external capacity by creatively seeking ways to publicise and celebrate school programs and achievements to our community.</p><p>The key responsibility of this position is to manage the College brand internally and externally by ensuring all communications and marketing properly support and reflect the College style guide, mission, and strategic goals, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and graphic identity.</p><p>We offer a flexible work arrangement both onsite and offsite with 3 days per week and no fixed work hours or days as these will be negotiated to suit the ideal applicant. This is a permanent part-time position (averaged - do not work school holidays). Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.</p><p>Core duties include but are not limited to: </p><ul><li>Management of the process to develop and sustain a social media presence e.g. Twitter, Facebook, YouTube channel, and our College website including day-to-day management of the same. </li><li>Act as administrator/moderator of the College Facebook Page, Twitter and YouTube channel, and any other social media networks utilised in the future (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), including the sourcing and creation of content, in conjunction with College staff. </li><li>Liaise with Alumni Facebook Coordinator and link appropriately to our College Facebook Page and website and develop processes to increase alumni connection. </li><li>Overseeing our College website including its currency, day-to-day management of content, branding, and coordination with head office for hosting and updates. </li><li>Developing processes for the editing, production, and distribution of all publications &amp; external communication in conjunction with relevant departments and staff, for e.g. yearbooks, handbooks, brochures, orientation materials, local paper advertising, and editorial, etc. to ensure that materials reflect our mission, philosophy, and values. </li><li>Serve as editor of College newsletter (Serviam) and Alumni newsletter (Piazza), including copy editing, article writing, and sourcing of materials for inclusion. </li><li>Write content and provide basic graphic design for the College’s communication materials and publications. Coordinate with Sydney Catholic Schools head office for detailed graphic design briefs. </li><li>Liaise with external contractors, such as photographers, videographers, and graphic designers to develop and produce marketing materials, College collateral, and promotional content. </li><li>Manage photography databases for the College and photograph or arrange photo coverage of various key events throughout the year. </li><li>Maintain an archive of published pieces and historical information. </li><li>Monitor impact of communications by analysing website, social media, monitor metrics, and offer advice on current trends and best practices. </li></ul><p>The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:</p><ul><li>Experience in marketing/communications, journalism, media or education. </li><li>Knowledge and experience in graphic design and social media platforms. </li><li>Excellent written and proofreading/editing skills with an ability to produce materials quickly and in a variety of styles. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail. </li><li>Knowledge and experience with desktop publishing software and content management systems. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus and ability to handle school information with discretion, tact, and diplomacy. </li><li>Be supportive of the Catholic ethos of our College and compliant with Sydney Catholic Schools&#39; privacy. </li></ul><p> How to Apply: </p><p>To apply please click &#34;Apply for Job&#34; and submit the following, addressed to the College Principal, Mrs Mary Leask: </p><ol><li>Covering letter which will reflect the above criteria; </li><li>A current resume; </li><li>Completed Support Staff employment application form (see form attached to this ad); </li><li>Three referees including name and contact details. </li></ol><p>Email: info&#64;stursulakingsgrove.catholic.edu.au </p><p>Sydney Catholic Schools is committed to ensuring the safety of our staff, students, and school communities.
