<p>Head of College (K-12) Job Description </p><p>Location: Sydney - South West &amp; M5 Corridor </p><p>Capacity: Full time </p><p>HEAD OF COLLEGE </p><p>The New South Wales Coptic Orthodox Board of Education invites expressions of interest in the position of Head of College. </p><p>St Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College is a co-educational K-12 school, established in 1996. </p><p>Providing a faith-based environment the College has flourished into a leading school that is consistently ranked as one of the top academic schools in NSW. </p><p>With a negotiable start date in late 2022 or at the start of 2023, the Head of College will demonstrate outstanding leadership and a strong commitment to the education of our students. The Head of College will lead the school staff and students through the College Mission, Vision and Values in the delivery and development of contemporary learning and wellbeing programs. </p><p>Reporting to the College Board, the successful candidate will have direct responsibility for the leadership and day to day management of the College, working with staff and the school leadership team to maximise the learning opportunities and welfare of the students both in and outside of the classroom. </p><p>The Head of College will promote a positive and dynamic working environment, building the capacity of staff and developing a team approach, ensuring open communication, transparent and effective decision making and collaborative work practices. </p><p>The successful candidate will bring: </p><p>· a passion for, and expertise in, K-12 co-educational faith-based schooling. </p><p>· ability to motivate and engage staff, students and parents to ensure a climate of support and high expectations. </p><p>· proven experience in building and mentoring highly effective teams. </p><p>· excellent communication skills in a range of formal and informal settings. </p><p>· a track record of facilitating change successfully, building internal resilience, and delivering continuous school improvement. </p><p>· skills to develop, review and deliver school strategy and operational plans. </p><p>· a commitment to collaborative practice in a dynamic school environment. </p><p>Knowledge, Understanding, Skills and Abilities: </p><p>· A clear and proven commitment to Christian ethos and values and capacity to develop and promote this within the College. </p><p>· A sound understanding of student learning, teaching practices, and achievement of high academic and extra-curricular standards. </p><p>· Knowledge and understanding of legislation, NESA regulatory requirements, and the latest evidence in educational development. </p><p>· Ability to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, pastoral care and the promotion of high standards of positive behaviour. </p><p>· Ability to communicate clearly, consistently, and with transparency. </p><p>· Strong facilitative abilities to promote unity and collaboration among different stakeholders. </p><p>· An ability to collaborate with and regularly report into an education board. </p><p>· Resilience and adaptability under pressure. </p><p>· Ability to manage own workload appropriately, with the enthusiasm, stamina and passion to motivate others with regard to all aspects of education in a K-12 environment. </p><p>· Ability to demonstrate evidence-based, data-driven decision making. </p><p>Qualifications and Experience (Essential): </p><p>· Experience as a Head of College and/or Deputy Head of College is required. </p><p>· Teaching qualifications and Accredited to teach. </p><p>· At least 10 years leadership experience (across a variety of roles). </p><p>· Additional higher post-graduate educational or leadership qualification/s. </p><p>Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia, have a current Working with Children Check and be fully vaccinated. </p><p>St Mark’s College is committed to Equal Employment Opportunity, incorporating the principles of merit-based selection, equity, diversity and procedural fairness in its recruitment process. </p><p>For confidential information regarding the application process and to obtain the full position description please contact the Board of Directors at education.board&#64;sydneycopts.org </p><p>Applications close: 5.00pm Friday 15th July 2022. </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
