Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) continues to be a thriving and growing contemporary educational community with over 150 schools, more than 71,000 current students, 10,000 staff and a large alumni community.<br> <br> <strong>About St Mary's Cathedral College</strong><br> <br> Situated in one of the greatest cities in the world and home to Australia's oldest Cathedral Choir, St Mary's Cathedral College Sydney seeks a strategic, creative and forward-thinking leader to work in partnership with St Mary's Cathedral to drive the next phase of growth at this prestigious Catholic institution.<br> <br> <strong>About the role</strong><br> <br> A unique opportunity exists to lead an international chorister school as it embraces a classical liberal arts approach to know and love Christ through learning.<br> <br> Candidates should have the ability to:</p> <ul> <li>build an educational vision in a classical, liberal arts tradition</li> <li>uphold the philosophical, ethical and aesthetic traditions of the Catholic Church;</li> <li>cultivate partnerships with Sydney's world-renowned arts institutions, including its galleries, museums, and the Sydney Opera House.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Major Accountabilities</strong><br> <br> The Principal of St Mary's Cathedral College will be involved in making a difference in the lives of young people by:</p> <ul> <li>making explicit, through witness and example, the mission of Catholic schools</li> <li>leading strategic change through consultation and collaboration with stakeholders</li> <li>developing innovative learning programs to address individual students' needs</li> <li>implementing a classical liberal arts curriculum</li> <li>improving student outcomes by improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning</li> <li>creating a school-wide professional learning culture</li> <li>monitoring the performance and organisational health of the school through data insights to identify ways to improve the educational experience</li> <li>promoting a culture of informed decision-making, transparency and collaboration incorporating the use of data</li> <li>leading as part of a Network in establishing a compelling pre to post-educational experience</li> <li>examining the context of the broader community and global educational trends for the benefit of the school</li> <li>contribute to the broader network of schools by providing previous leadership expertise across a diverse range of contemporary educational areas</li> <li>leading the use of data to effectively and critically inform school improvement processes</li> <li>building and developing relationships with the College, parish and community leaders to pursue the strategic intent of the system.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong><br> <br> To be considered for this role, you will have the following experience, skills and knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>experience in the delivery of successful educational outcomes</li> <li>a Masters in Educational Leadership or another relevant educational discipline</li> <li>in meeting the requirements of <a href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/policies/accreditation-policy-to-work-teach-and-lead-in-sydney-catholic-schools">(Category E)</a> in the Accreditation Policy to Work Teach and Lead in Sydney Catholic Schools or agree to meet these requirements in your first contract term</li> <li>willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools in your personal and professional conduct</li> <li>a Baptised Catholic with demonstrated evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish; or an established community within the Catholic Church, as an expression of a relationship with Jesus Christ.</li> </ul> <p>Sydney Catholic Schools offers a generous salary package for school leadership positions commensurate with the experience and skills of the appropriate candidate.<br> <br> <strong>APPLICATION PROCESS</strong><br> <br> Submit your application by clicking <a href="https://cgprod.phris.org.au/psp/CGPRD/EMPLOYEE/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM_FL.HRS_CG_SEARCH_FL.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_JBPST_FL&amp;Action=U&amp;FOCUS=Applicant&amp;SiteId=2&amp;JobOpeningId=2192&amp;PostingSeq=1">HERE</a> and following the steps to complete your application.
