A Co-educational Catholic High School serving the Shoalhaven area with an enrolment of approximately 953 pupils. St John’s is just 1 hour south of Wollongong.

<p><b>Location:</b> St John the Evangelist Catholic High School, Nowra</p><p>A permanent full time position commencing 18 July 2022. The successful applicant will be required to teach HSIE (Stages 4-5) and History (Stage 6).</p> <p>The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning so that students may reach their full potential.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church</li> <li>Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment.</li> <li>Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning</li> <li>Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in HSIE &amp; History</li> <li>Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning</li> <li>Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community</li> </ul> <p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Ability to teach other Stage 6 HSIE areas an advantage.</li> <li>Ability to teach Religious Education an advantage.</li> </ul> <p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills</li> <li>Strong organisational skills</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated HSIE (Stages 4-5) and History (Stage 6).</li> <li>Level B Accreditation in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain level within the first 5 years of employment&nbsp; with CEDoW.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>The applicant must be registered to teach with NESA.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>VACCINATION REQUIREMENT</p> <p>CEDoW recognises the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in the workplace is central to the mission and success of our schools and offices.
