College Psychologist

A unique opportunity for an experienced Psychologist looking at working in a College environment to provide wellbeing support to students.
<p><b>Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated College Phychologist's to join our Wellbeing Team whilst being fully supportive of the ethos of a Catholic School in the Mercy tradition.

</h4><p><i>Founded in 1896, Mount Lilydale Mercy College is a Catholic co?educational 7-12 College in the outer eastern suburbs, catering for the needs of 1460 students within an environment of care based on Gospel values.
</i></p><p><b>CRITERIA
</b></p><p>The successful applicant will report directly to the Deputy Principal - Pastoral Care and provide wellbeing support and expertise in line with the educational mission of the College to our students and their families.
</p><p>Key responsibilities of this role, include:
</p><ul><li>Counselling of students, parents/guardians and families experiencing personal, relational, social, educational or professional difficulties.
</li><li>Diagnostic and therapeutic casework, referral and follow-up.
</li><li>Psychological, behavioural and intelligence testing and referral.
</li><li>The analysis of trends, problems and attitudes across the College and over time.
</li><li>Involvement in staff and community development and support through inservice and outreach programs to enhance the social, health and educational effectiveness of the College and its community.
</li><li>Network with government, community and church social welfare, health, youth, correctional and educational agencies.
</li></ul><p>Key performance indicators for this role, include:
</p><ul><li>High level competency in counselling skills, particularly working with young people.
</li><li>Professional Development activities and College events may be required to be undertaken during school holidays or after hours.
</li><li>Experience working in school settings is highly desirable.
</li><li>Membership with APS (Australian Psychological Society
</li><li>AHPRA registration
</li><li>Excellent communication skills (written and interpersonal).
</li><li>The ability to work as part of a diverse team.
</li><li>As a registered Psychologist, it is important to have experience administering psychological, behavioural and intelligence testing in order to contribute to individualized student plans.
</li><li>It is a requirement to attend feedback meetings with educational leaders and parents/guardians to provide guidance and information to teachers on how to assist the student in the classroom.
