We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with at least two years' experience working in a primary school to work one day a week (0.2 FTE) commencing at the beginning of Term 4.
<p>Applications are invited from qualified Occupational Therapists for the effective operation of the occupational therapy services within the school for students that are identified as requiring handwriting, social, sensory and motor assessment and intervention services.</p><p>Some of the key responsibilities are: </p><ul><li>Provide small group and individual in-school Occupational Therapy screenings, diagnostic evaluations and assessment and intervention services for students with learning, motor, social and sensory impairments.
</li><li>Provide consultancy support to teachers regarding inclusive, evidence-based curriculum approaches designed to support students with the development of skills required to participate in the school curriculum.
</li><li>Provide advice and intervention regarding development of writing and self-care skills, devices to support motor skills, and strategies for sensory regulation.
</li><li>Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessment, treatment, and progress.
</li><li>Develop, document, and implement Occupational Therapy programs for children.
</li><li>Liaise with school staff and external agencies to facilitate the provision of evidence-based support responsive to the needs of students.</li></ul><p>Applicants must have:</p><ul><li>Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy;
</li><li>Current AHPRA registration;
</li><li>Minimum of two years previous experience working in the school environment, providing Occupational Therapy services to school-age children;
</li><li>Experience in supporting students in their development of motor, sensory and social skills and enabling participation.</li></ul>
