Primary Teacher

At Emmaus, we hold every child at the centre of everything we do. We are looking for an adaptable, committed and passionate educator who is willing to work alongside others and take on the Year 6 class when the teacher leaves on maternity leave. Although fixed term at this stage, this position could become ongoing in 2023. The applicant would begin as soon as possible.

<p>At Emmaus we hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children as a central and fundamental responsibility of our school. </p><p> </p><p>Applicants will believe in growing the whole child - academically, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.</p><p> </p><p>The applicant would be part of a dynamic, supportive teaching team leading a wonderful group of students as they begin their transition to secondary school. It is an exciting time to be teaching a Year 6 cohort as they take part in a school camp, inter school sport opportunities and graduate from their primary school years. <br /></p><p>This full time teaching role would suit applicants who are risk takers, creative, open to new learning and willing to share their knowledge and pedagogy with others. Full time teachers at Emmaus, engage in four days of face to face teaching and participate in one day of facilitated and personal planning a week. </p><p>In addition, successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate:</p><ul><li>commitment to the Catholic Ethos, the principles of Catholic teaching and an ability to live the school&#39;s vision</li><li>commitment to the Emmaus Child Safe Policy and the Staff Code of Conduct (both can be found on our website)</li></ul><p>Special Requirements </p><ul><li>accreditation to teach Religious Education is preferable</li><li>current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration</li><li>please include at least 3 referees - one being your current Principal</li></ul>
