<p>The position, Head of History &amp; Geography is a fulltime permanent role, to commence in Term 1, 2023.<br /><br />The key objectives of this role are to:<br />•    Support the School Executive by contributing to the development of the total ethos of the School in accordance with the School’s Mission, Values and Aspirations<br />•    Lead, develop and manage teaching staff within the department<br />•    Implement and manage all aspects of the curriculum in accordance with the requirements of the New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA)<br /><br />Educational/Professional experience required:<br />•    Experience/expertise with the History &amp; Geography curriculum<br />•    Tertiary qualifications in History/Geography/Education<br />•    Knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with NESA and Australian Curriculum requirements<br />•    Previous experience in a leadership position within a school environment would be desirable<br />•    Master’s Degree in an Educational discipline would be desirable<br />•    Proven experience in assisting students to achieve high level academic outcomes including in Stage 6<br />•    Commitment and skills in digital literacy<br /><br />Special Requirements:<br />•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to communicate at all levels across the School<br />•    Ability to work outside normal business hours of the School for the purpose of meeting with students, parents, external providers; for Outdoor Education, co-curricular expectations, parent information evenings, Presentation Night, P&amp;F functions, etc.<br />•    Sound understanding of contemporary pedagogy in education<br />•    Capability to lead and contribute to ongoing school improvement through evidence based interventions<br />•    Understanding of, and commitment to professional teaching standards<br />•    Commitment to personal professional learning<br />•    Commitment to collegial involvement with the middle management team<br /><br />Interested applicants should familiarise themselves with the School’s Strategic Plan ‘Striving for Excellence’, available on our website at www.ccgs.nsw.edu.au.
