As part of the mission of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Parramatta, the CAPTIVATE Arts Learning Officer is accountable for delivering embedded arts learning in schools in partnership with school leadership teams.

We are always on the lookout for top talent to help us achieve our strategic goal of inspiring the future, through quality catholic schooling and by strengthening the professional lives of our employees.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the Role:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">We are seeking experienced and passionate <strong>Instrumental Music Tutors</strong> to join the CAPTIVATE team on a permanent part-time basis.&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">String Tutor (Violin) – 2-3 Days per week (Permanent Part-Time position)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">String Tutor (Cello) – 1-2 Days per week (Permanent Part-Time position)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">String Tutor (Double Bass/Bass Guitar) – 1-2 Days per week (Permanent Part-Time position)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Woodwind Tutor (Flute) – 1-2 Days per week (Permanent Part-Time position)</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">The Instrumental Tutor undertakes the following responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide instrument-specific teaching to students both in small groups and, where requested, individually on a weekly basis both during school time and before or after school depending on spacing availability and student timetables.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide regular feedback to students and biannual reports to parents.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide instrument-specific knowledge to develop ensembles in both rehearsal and performance before and after school.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide instrument-specific knowledge to support the work of the Specialist Teacher in the delivery of classroom-based programs (e.g. band or strings) on a weekly basis during school time.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Willingness and ability to deliver the classroom program when the assigned Specialist Teacher is away.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Lead ensembles and workshops under the guidance of the Specialist Teacher both during school time and after school.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Provide assessment, maintenance and cleaning, tagging and logging of instruments.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About You:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated ability to work creatively and constructively to support diverse need</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">Qualifications and accreditations:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Relevant demonstrated experience</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Working with Children Check clearance</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>Interested?</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working with Students and Children.
