A Co-educational Catholic High School serving the Shoalhaven area with an enrolment of approximately 976 pupils. St John’s is just 1 hour south of Wollongong.

<p><b>Location:</b> St John the Evangelist Catholic High School, Nowra</p><p>St John the Evangelist Catholic High School, Nowra is a co-educational Catholic high school. Recognised as a centre of excellence in learning and pastoral care, St John’s has a strong focus on student growth in learning and building peaceful just relationships. The school draws students from Berry in the north to as far south as Ulladulla. With a student population of approximately 975 students, the school is located just one hour drive south of Wollongong.</p> <p>A temporary part time position commencing as soon as possible until 20 December 2022. The successful applicant will be required to teach Religious Education<span style="color: #ff0000">.</span></p> <p>The role of Classroom Teacher exists to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students to reach their full potential.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li>Create and maintain an orderly, safe and supportive learning environment based on the principles of PB4L.</li> <li>Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students to support their full participation in learning.</li> <li>Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning in Religious Education.</li> <li>Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.</li> <li>Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community.</li> </ul> <p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Willingness to lead Youth Ministry</li> </ul> <p>GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.</li> <li>Strong organisational skills.</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Appropriate qualifications for teaching nominated Key Learning Area (s).</li> <li>Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with <strong>To Work, Teach and Lead</strong> policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.</li> <li>The applicant must be accredited to teach with NESA.</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>VACCINATION REQUIREMENT</p> <p>CEDoW recognises the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in the workplace is central to the mission and success of our schools and offices.
