<p><b>Location:</b> John Therry Catholic College, Rosemeadow</p><p>A permanent full time position commencing January 2023.</p> <p>The role of Middle Leader 3 exists to support the Principal and the school leadership team in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support student wellbeing, growth in faith and improvement in learning.&nbsp;The<strong> Diverse Learning Coordinator 7-12 (3-point) </strong>at John Therry Catholic College, Rosemeadow will work with all staff to cater for the learning and development needs of students in regular and specialist classes at the College.</p> <p>The scope of this leadership role requires the applicant to:</p> <ul> <li>Understand and implement School and System policies and procedures, The&nbsp;<em>Disability Standards for Education 2005</em>&nbsp;aligned to The&nbsp;<em>Disability Discrimination Act (1992)</em>&nbsp;and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data</li> <li>Lead, mentor and work collaboratively with staff to build the capabilities of all staff to develop an inclusive and supportive culture to meet the diverse needs of students, across mainstream and specialist settings through: <ul type="circle"> <li>overseeing learning support staffing, structures and processes to best meet student needs</li> <li>supporting quality differentiated teaching practice across the college</li> <li>monitoring and reviewing adjustments to cater for diverse needs</li> <li>overseeing the provision of small group and targeted individual interventions within and outside the regular class</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <p>The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.</li> <li>A commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning and appropriate adjustments for students with disability.</li> <li>The demonstrated ability to build a positive learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.</li> <li>The demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and work collaboratively with staff.</li> <li>The ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.</li> <li>A working knowledge and understanding of all Stages of Learning (4-6).</li> <li>A comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.</li> <li>Held the position of KLA Coordinator for a minimum of 3 years.</li> </ul> <p>DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in conjunction with the broader school community and external support personnel to enhance student outcomes and well-being.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;GENERAL CAPABILITIES applicable to the role:</p> <ul> <li>Well-developed interpersonal skills</li> <li>Well-developed oral and written communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment including members of&nbsp;the School Improvement Services Specialist Support Team</li> <li>Strong organisational skills</li> </ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Level D Accreditation in accordance with ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy.</li> <li>NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.</li> <li>Post graduate qualifications and/or experience in Special Education, or the willingness to undertake relevant study</li> </ul> <p>WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p>This role is classified as child related work and therefore we require a working with children clearance to be completed prior to your commencement with us.</p> <p>VACCINATION REQUIREMENT</p> <p>CEDoW recognises the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone in the workplace is central to the mission and success of our schools and offices.
