Penrith Christian School is seeking a qualified and experienced school counsellor to join our community.

We focus on a whole school approach that sees consistency in our learning framework, pastoral care and wellbeing approach and drive for academic and personal excellence.</p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p><b>About the Position </b></p><p>Due to one of our valued staff members having a change in career, we are seeking a suitably qualified and passionate Counsellor to assist in the Student Wellbeing Programs of the school. </p><p>The successful candidate will be a committed Christian, actively involved in their local church, and will work as part of a Student Wellbeing team alongside our existing School Counsellor, Educational Support Services, and Student Wellbeing and Teaching staff.</p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p><b>About You </b></p><p>Along with a current Working with Children Check you will need to be able to demonstrate the following: </p><ul><li>appropriate counselling qualifications at a tertiary level. Ideally Psychologist or Social Worker with current membership to a relevant professional body/association (AASW, APS, ACPA, AHPRA) </li><li>evidence of success in a current similar role </li><li>previous experience counselling children/young people and families </li><li>previous group work/therapy experience working with children </li><li>collaborative, innovative and effective practice in a related context </li><li>highly relational interpersonal skills with staff, students and parents as well as outside agencies </li><li>a demonstrated capacity to work as a wider school team member </li><li>excellent oral and written communication skills </li><li>flexibility and interest in working in an innovative and dynamic environment </li><li>excellent ICT skills across a range of platforms </li><li>experience in a school setting (desirable) </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>Applications close 4.00pm Friday 10 June 2022 </b></p><p><br /></p><p><b>How to apply </b></p><p>Visit the PCS website <a href="http://pcs.nsw.edu.au/employment" rel="nofollow">pcs.nsw.edu.au/employment </a>to complete the Employment Application form.
