An education that has no physical boundaries. Learning that extends way beyond classroom walls.

IMAGINE... learning is measured by more than the written word. A school where students’ knowledge and growth is expressed in music ensembles, choir, bands, dance, drama, musical theatre, sport, cultural immersions, technology, public speaking, faith, social justice, play, genius, passion projects and beyond.

You are a learning leader and you’re ready to prove it in a large and complex setting. Your work has touched on many aspects of learning – collaboration, leadership, inspiration, adaptability, pedagogy, risk-taking, and new metrics. You’re looking for an environment to bring that experience together to make a huge impact on the future of learning. You have a vocation to Catholic education, you work hard, know your stuff and deserve to be recognised and rewarded for it. You don’t need to be micromanaged because you have a big vision and are motivated to turn ideas into action. You are eager to contribute your unique talents in a collaborative effort to bring world-class learning to reality. Most importantly, you stand ready to lead in a dynamic environment where every day brings new opportunities and challenges. As important as it is to develop the strategy, your best work will come when you inspire, empower, coach, and enable your team to deliver. The successful candidate will be able to do X today and be able to pivot to Y tomorrow.

Our ideal candidate is someone who is both comfortable - working independently as collaboratively, who communicates easily with team members, accepts feedback and critique as tools to improve, and most of all is ready to grow into an exceptional and critical member of our leadership team.

We are moving quickly, so you will need to show that you can think creatively, deliberate clearly, and move decisively. We expect your prior work and current interests to represent what you can do for our community. Most of all, we employ people who prove themselves through their vocation, and who share our ambition to imagine and create the next frontier of learning.

Key focus areas

The Secondary Teacher (PDHPE / HSIE) will fit the following criteria:

Extensive pedagogical knowledge base and understanding of how the identified subject areas are learned, what affects students’ opportunities to learn the subject matter and how the learning and teaching of the subject matter can be enhanced.

Understanding of how to differentiate learning to cater for students needs in order to maximise student learning.

Sound understanding of the learning environments, lesson plans, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.

Committed to the continual improvement of their teaching practice and take opportunities for personal professional development.

Work creatively and constructively within a range of 'communities' inside and beyond the school and set high, achievable goals for themselves and their students.

Able to motivate students to achieve and to develop a life-long love of learning.

Please respond to the above selection criteria in your cover letter.

The Organisation

Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.

This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check and adoption and compliance with CEDP’s Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.

CEDP promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as people from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Successful Candidates for all positions at CEDP must have a valid Working With Children Check.
