We are looking for a passionate instrumental music teacher to inspire and teach Woodwind commencing as soon as possible.

<p>St Francis Xavier College is a Catholic College with enrolments of over 3,300 students for 2022. </p><p>The College serves families from the parishes of Berwick, Koo Wee Rup/Maryknoll/Iona, Narre Warren and Pakenham under the governance of Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited (DOSCEL). </p><p>St Francis Xavier College is easily accessed via several major freeways – only 20 minutes from Springvale Road on the M1. </p><p>We are looking for a passionate instrumental music teacher to inspire and teach Woodwind commencing as soon as possible. </p><p>The instrumental music teacher will be qualified to take private and group lessons and promote the Performing Arts faculty of the College. They will be confident working with students from a wide variety of performance skills from beginner to VCE level. </p><p><b>More specifically the position will: </b></p><ul><li>Take instrumental lessons, assigning repertoire and exercises that best meet the needs of each student </li><li>Work with classroom music to integrate appropriate theory into lessons </li><li>Work with classroom music teachers to continue to promote the school’s instrumental program amongst potential students </li><li>Assist in preparing VCE Music Performance students for assessments and performances </li><li>Assist in leading smaller ensembles consisting of advanced students, assigning repertoire, leading rehearsals and preparing ensembles for performances across the school </li><li>Attending performance evenings as required </li><li>Any other duties as stipulated by the Executive Team or Arts Performance Coordinators </li></ul><p><b>The successful applicant would demonstrate the following: </b></p><ul><li>Tertiary qualification in music performance </li><li>Experience in planning and teaching instrumental lessons </li><li>the ability to teach another instrument (advantageous) </li><li>Experience in teaching senior and VCE Music Performance students </li><li>A commitment to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities, including the school production, ensembles and </li><li>Strong computer skills with the ability to use a variety of software programs </li><li>Clear and effective communication skills both written and verbal </li><li>Strong time management skills </li><li>Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team </li><li>Can demonstrate high levels of discretion and professional judgement </li><li>Interpersonal skills to relate professionally with students, parents and staff </li><li>Commitment to occupational health and safety </li><li>Understand and follow relevant College policy and government legislation e.g. Privacy Policy </li><li>An understanding of and commitment to Catholic education </li></ul><p>The successful applicant will be employed on a part-time, ongoing basis working 24 hours per fortnight. With a set fortnightly timetable of: </p><p><b>Week 1 </b></p><p>Monday - 9:30am – 1:30pm </p><p>Tuesday - 9:00am – 12:30pm </p><p>Wednesday - 12:00pm – 3:00pm </p><p>Thursday - 11:30am – 3:30pm </p><p><b>Week 2 </b></p><p>Monday - 10:00am – 1:00pm </p><p>Wednesday - 8:45 – 11:45am </p><p>Thursday - 11:00am – 2:30pm </p><p>Staff are employed under the Victorian Catholic Education Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018.
