<p>St Mary’s College for the deaf is a p – 12 specialist school for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The College operates from 6 campuses located across Melbourne, providing an educational program at each campus in partnership with a local Catholic school. </p><p>Applications are invited for the following full-time fixed term positions to commence in Term 3 2022 or earlier by negotiation. </p><p><b>Teacher of the Deaf – South Morang Campus (within Marymede Catholic College): Fixed 18 months with possibility of further extension </b></p><p>The successful applicants will have a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children. </p><p><b>About the role </b></p><ul><li>Take responsibility for a group of deaf or hard of hearing students including planning interventions and delivering teaching in targeted areas. </li><li>Identify and respond to the social and emotional needs of students. </li><li>Liaise with families, allied professionals and teachers of Marymede Catholic College on student engagement, adjustments, assessment and reporting. </li><li>Optimise listening conditions across the College. </li><li>Follow the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework and participate in professional learning teams. </li></ul><p><b>Qualification and Requirements </b></p><ul><li>Professional qualifications in the Education of Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (or a willingness to undertake appropriate training). </li><li>Registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching </li></ul><p>St Mary’s College offers a generous and competitive remuneration package to employees.
