Applications are invited from suitably experienced VCAL teachers for a contract position to commence as soon as possible until the end of of the year (2022) with a possibility of extension to 2023.

<p>Plenty River College (the College) is a newly registered Co-educational/Specialist senior secondary College, delivering the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) at Foundation, Intermediate and Senior levels. It provides a safe and inclusive learning environment for young people aged 15-20 years who may have been disengaged or are at risk of disengaging from education. </p><p>Plenty River College is a school of opportunities in which all students are empowered to achieve their personal best. Our mission is to assist students to develop life and work skills and achieve in their learning by: </p><p>• re-engaging them in education; </p><p>• fostering their social and emotional development; and </p><p>• providing a supportive and safe and environment for them </p><p>The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and experienced VCAL practitioner to develop and deliver flexible, innovative and applied learning strategies and programs for students who are disengaged with school. </p><p>The applicant will have the capacity to:</p><ol><li>Develop and deliver appropriate VCAL learning and assessment materials that are enriching and engaging for students in accordance with the curriculum requirements at Foundation, Intermediate and Senior levels</li><li>Ensure all delivery methods are engaging for a diverse range of learning styles and reflect contemporary learning approaches including digital and social media </li><li>Promote an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment to encourage independent learning, delivering activities that are innovative and relevant to the student’s interests and needs </li><li>Support student wellbeing and engagement by working collaboratively with the other team members to identify and support student wellbeing and academic needs</li><li>Develop strategies to address student engagement and educational progress for students at risk of non-completion</li><li>Monitor, evaluate, prepare and report on student progress in key learning areas and implement strategies to support students to achieve their learning outcomes on a regular basis</li><li>Participate and contribute to team effectiveness</li></ol><p><b>Selection Criteria:</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrated knowledge of the VCAL curriculum</li><li>Demonstrated experience in responding to student learning needs.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies, guided by how students learn, and evaluating the impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning. </li><li>Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community to support student learning, agency, wellbeing and engagement.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in reflecting upon practice and engaging in professional learning to continually improve the quality of teaching.</li></ul><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p><p>The role of the VCAL teacher may include but is not limited to: </p><ul><li>Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students; </li><li>Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal;<br /></li><li>Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings; staff meetings; camps and excursions; </li><li>Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.</li></ul><p><b>Conditions of Employment</b></p><ul><li>Full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching </li><li>Evidence of full COVID-19 Vaccination, including BOOSTER </li><li>Commitment to child safety</li></ul><p>Applications to be sent to: <a href="mailto:veronica.kioria&#64;prc.vic.edu.au" rel="nofollow">veronica.kioria&#64;prc.vic.edu.au</a></p><p>Please include the following in your application: </p><p> </p><ul><li>Your CV including a cover letter<br /></li><li>Contact details for 3 referees. </li></ul><p><i>Plenty River College is committed to safety and wellbeing of all children and young people.
