<p>Sacred Heart School, Fitzroy is a small Catholic Primary School where love, hope and welcome flourish.</p><p>We are seeking a Fixed-Term Part-Time Learning Support Officer for the remainder of 2022 (commencing Monday 6th June 2022). The successful applicant will work 5 days per week, 8:45am - 3:30pm each day.</p><p>Our beautiful children need a welcoming, friendly and highly motivated person who is willing to show initiative and work collaboratively within a team. They need to be flexible, being able to work with a variety of students and their teachers. They also need to have a passion for working with children with diverse needs, having a belief that all children can learn and succeed. </p><p>Applicants are encouraged to outline in their application how they will successfully undertake the LSO role with the following responsibilities in mind:</p><ul><li>Assist the teacher to implement strategies that have been decided upon at Program Support Meetings (PSGs) and/or Personal Learning Plans (PLPs) and develop excellent rapport with students, teachers, parents and visiting consultants.</li><li>Be committed to the values and ethos of the Catholic education system.</li><li>Work effectively as part of a team providing mutual support, sharing observations, expertise and an understanding of any intervention programs which may be operating to support the specific needs of students.</li><li>Actively participate in activities, assisting, intervening and encouraging students, individually or in groups.</li><li>Be aware of the class teacher’s expectations of the children in the class and the teaching method and strategies outlined in relevant school policies.</li><li>Assist in implementing Personalised Learning Plan (PLP) goals and associated adjustments for each designated student as directed by the classroom teacher – including collecting evidence of learning.</li><li>Demonstrate a commitment to Child Safety Practices as outlined in the CECV Commitment Statement and the school&#39;s Child Safety Code of Conduct.</li><li>Work under the direction of teaching staff and the Learning Diversity Leader.</li><li>Keep appropriate records as required.</li><li>Support individuals and groups of students using a variety of intervention programs.</li><li>Be committed to continuous professional learning.</li></ul><p>Key Selection Criteria </p><p>- demonstrate a passion for and experience in working with students on the Autism Spectrum </p><p>- demonstrate a capacity to work collaboratively with staff to adapt and implement learning tasks to meet the needs of individual children </p><p>- be flexible in dealing with changing and diverse needs of individual students </p><p>- have a Working with Children&#39;s Check, a National Police Check and up to date COVID-19 vaccination</p><p>Sacred Heart, Fitzroy is committed to the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and as such, all applicants are asked to provide evidence of their current Working with Children Check.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
