<p>Yirara College has proudly provided 49 years of Education to remote area indigenous students and continues to grow as an innovational educational institute including VET, work placements and life skills both in the academic and boarding spaces. </p><p>Located 7 km from Alice Springs, Yirara College is a boarding school  for indigenous high school students from remote communities, between the age of 12 and 18. </p><p>The College is seeking applicants for the following position to enable us to continue to grow as one of the strongest providers of Indigenous Education. </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>Female Boarding House Parent</b><br /></p><p>full time</p><p><br /></p><p>Applicants will need to demonstrate the following:</p><ul><li>Strong commitment to advancing the interests and wellbeing of indigenous youth<br /></li><li>Relate and communicate effectively with young people </li><li>Have a sound understanding of adolescent development </li><li>Awareness of indigenous and cross cultural community needs and sensitivities related to working in a cross cultural environment </li><li>Be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of students on shift which enables best practice of operations and adherence to College and Community expectations </li><li>Work effectively as part of a team </li><li>Ability to work across a roster that includes evening and weekends including some sleepover shifts </li><li>Actively support and uphold the Christian values of the College </li><li>Hold valid Working with Children’s card – or able to obtain &amp; recent National Police Check </li><li>Preferably a manual driver’s license </li><li>Current First Aid Certificate or able to obtain</li><li>Residential youthwork experience and/or experience working with indigenous youth is desirable</li></ul><p> </p><p><br /></p><p>Applications should include cover letter, current resume, and the details of two referees. </p><p>Further information can be obtained by contacting Swetha Jaiswal on 8950 5644 or hr&#64;yirara.nt.edu.au</p><p>Staff at Yirara are included in the NT Mandatory Vaccination Policy and will be required to have their booster dose by Friday 22nd of April 2022.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
