<div> Yirara College has proudly provided 49 years of Education to remote area indigenous students and continues to grow as an innovational educational institute including VET, work placements and life skills both in the academic and boarding spaces. </div><div> </div> <div> <p><br /></p><p>The College is seeking applicants for the following position to enable us to continue to grow as one of the strongest providers of Indigenous Education. </p><p><br /></p></div><div> <p><strong>Health and Physical Education Teacher</strong></p> <p>full time </p><p> </p> <p>The Generalist Teacher - Health &amp; Physical Education takes responsibility to develop and deliver a Health &amp; Physical Education program to EAL/D secondary age indigenous students across all classes as part of the College&#39;s Academic program.</p> <p>The applicant will demonstrate the following:</p> <ul><li> <p>Ability to address the role as outlined</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to advance the interests and prospects of indigenous youth</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to uphold and support the Christian values of the College</p> </li><li> <p>Hold valid NT Teacher registration, Ochre Card and recent National Police Check </p></li><li><p>Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills</p></li><li><p>Proven capacity to work strategically and effectively through challenges</p></li><li><p>Ability to relate well in a classroom with indigenous teenagers</p></li><li><p> Hold current First Aid Certificate</p></li><li> <p> Hold current Austswim, bronze medallion qualification</p></li></ul><p></p><ul></ul><p></p><ul><li> Bus licence (LR or MR) or willingness to acquire</li></ul><ul><li>Previous experience with indigenous youth in an educational environment an advantage </li></ul><ul><li>Previous experience in teaching ESL is desirable </li></ul><div><br /></div><div>Relocation assistance may be available. </div><div> </div><div><br /></div><div>Teachers are supported directly in the classroom by a Teaching Assistant and Yirara offers support to students on campus in many ways.
