We're seeking a skilled School Groundsperson who will be responsible to support the other services of a school

<p><b>Location: </b>Xavier College - Llandilo</p><p>We're seeking a skilled School Groundsperson who will be responsible for keeping the grounds and buildings presentable, clean, safe and useable for students and staff at Xavier College a 7-12 co-educational school.&nbsp; This role plays a vital part of the presentation of the school and there is a good deal of work that goes into maintaining a school of 1100 students.</p> <p>The position is a full-time permanent position for 76 hours per fortnight with 4 weeks annual leave per year and commencing June 2022.</p> <p>The successful applicant with undertake day-to-day maintenance, cleaning and minor works of the College facilities.&nbsp; The position is responsible to the Principal through the Business Manager.&nbsp; The allocation of tasks and duties will be determined by the Business Manager.&nbsp; The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.&nbsp;</p> <p>It is essential that you;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Have demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li> <li>Have demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</li> <li>Have demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</li> <li>Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in schools</li> <li>Have good Communications skills</li> <li>Respond to all College facility related issues including minor repairs, cleaning and general maintenance requirements</li> <li>Occasional garden and lawn maintenance</li> <li>Operate and maintain equipment including ride on Lawn Mower and power tools</li> <li>Lift and move equipment and furniture around school</li> <li>Supervise and coordinate contractors as required</li> <li>Set up for school event</li> <li>Drive the College Bus on occasions</li> <li>Must be willing/prepared to undertake Pre-Placement Health Assessment</li> <li>Have a current LR licence or will to obtain LR licence</li> </ul> <p>It is desirable that the applicant holds a relevant trade qualification.</p> <p>It is essential that you;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Have demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li> <li>Have demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</li> <li>Have demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</li> <li>Support the mission, teachings and ethos of the Catholic Church’s work in school&nbsp;</li> <li> <p>Further information can be obtained by contacting the Business Manager at Xavier College on 4777 0900.</p> <p>The applicant must submit with their application the following:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>A current CV and cover letter addressing the position criteria</li> <li>Qualification transcripts and professional experience reports (if applicable)</li> <li>Nominated professional referees, must be three</li> <li>Current Working With Children's Check</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>The Organisation<br><br></strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta provides quality learning and teaching in a faith-centred environment across 83 primary and secondary schools and within early learning and out of school hours care centres in Western Sydney.&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This position involves working with children.
