<p><b>LOWTHER HALL </b></p><p>Lowther Hall is an inclusive school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, committed to excellence for all. Situated in Essendon, it is the only Anglican independent school for girls in the area. The School has an enrolment of 800, a size which enables each girl to be known as an individual. Lowther Hall is a learning community in which staff and students work together to achieve the shared goal of educating the whole girl for the whole of life. </p><p><b>POSITION DESCRIPTION </b></p><p>The successful applicant should be an excellent classroom practitioner whose teaching is informed by contemporary educational research, especially in the area of English and Drama pedagogy. Passionate about their field, they will demonstrate the ability to build a culture of success in and enjoyment of their subject by students and to ensure high standards of teaching and learning. They will also be committed to their own learning and professional development. </p><p>This position includes the responsibility for the pastoral care of students and participation in the co-curricular programs. Specifically, assistance with the various School Production and attendance at rehearsals is required. </p><p>Support of the School’s values is essential. </p><p><b>SELECTION CRITERIA </b></p><p>Applicants should provide a statement of no more than 300 words which outlines the ways in which they fulfil the following criteria: </p><ol><li>Appropriate undergraduate qualification in English and a teaching method in English </li><li>Experience in, and a demonstrated passion for teaching English and Drama </li><li>A genuine commitment to their own learning </li><li>A proven record as an outstanding English and Drama teacher/ teacher candidate </li><li>Success in fostering in girls a love of learning and a commitment to excellence </li><li>A proven ability to develop productive relationships with students, staff and parents </li><li>Excellent organisational, administrative and presentation skills </li><li>An understanding of the Lowther Hall context and requirements for ensuring child safety</li></ol><p>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS<br /></p><ol><li>Current VIT registration </li><li>Current Level 2 First Aid and CPR Certificate – with a commitment to on-going training </li><li>Current anaphylaxis management certificate </li><li>Current asthma management certificate </li><li>Willingness to undertake a National Criminal History Record Check upon appointment </li><li>Provide evidence of being fully vaccinated in relation to COVID-19 or that you have obtained certification from a medical practitioner that you have a medical contraindication to the administration of a COVID-19 vaccine </li></ol><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
