Year 6 Teacher Optional to compliment teacher role - Leader of Learning. The Leader of Learning is a Registered Teacher who is responsible for the operation of a Professional Learning Community within designated year levels, we are looking for Year 5/6

<p><b>Key Responsibilities and Duties: </b></p><p>(AITSL Standards. Reference Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher) Lead the Year level team to achieve high levels of learning for all students: </p><p><i><u>Standard 1 – Know students and how they learn: </u></i></p><p>• Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities; </p><p>• Coordinate the best use of Inclusion Support and ISA’s within the community. (Traeger Campus); </p><p>• Ensure there is differentiated instruction to enrich and extend the students who are proficient; and, </p><p>• Work with teachers and Special Education/Learning Support staff to plan and cater for students with specific learning needs and assist in providing information/strategies for students using AP’s. </p><p><i><u>Standard 2 – Know the content and how to teach it: </u></i></p><p>• Content and teaching strategies of the teaching area; </p><p>• Clarify how the curriculum translates into specific knowledge and skills in consultation with the Leader of Learning; </p><p>• Curriculum, assessment and reporting; </p><p>• Clarify how the curriculum translates into specific knowledge and skills in consultation with the Leader of Learning; </p><p>• Lead collaborative practices such as moderation, observation and the formation of common tasks and assessment; </p><p>• Developing frequent formative assessments to monitor each students learning; </p><p>• Oversees the reporting process in consultation with the Curriculum Coordinator; and, </p><p>• Literacy and numeracy strategies. </p><p><i><u>Standard 3 - Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning: </u></i></p><p>• Establish challenging learning goals; </p><p>• Plan, structure and sequence learning programs; </p><p>• Use teaching strategies; </p><p>• Evaluate and improve teaching programs; and, </p><p>• Assist the team members to continually assess ways to improve their teaching skills and reflect on practice. </p><p><u><i>Standard 4 – Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments: </i></u></p><p>• Manage challenging behaviour; and, </p><p>• Reinforce established protocols and procedures for positive behaviours. </p><p><i><u>Standard 5 - Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning: </u></i></p><p>• Assess student learning; </p><p>• Create strategies for gathering evidence of individual student learning (continual); </p><p>• Interpret student data; </p><p>• Use evidence to drive continuous improvement within the PLC; </p><p>• Report on student achievement; and, </p><p>• Oversees the reporting process in consultation with the Curriculum Coordinator. </p><p><i><u>Standard 6 - Engage in professional learning: </u></i></p><p>• Engage with colleagues and improve practice; </p><p>• Lead collaborative practices such as moderation, observation and the formation of common tasks and assessment; </p><p>• Developing frequent formative assessments to monitor each students learning; </p><p>• Work collaboratively in a collective effort to meet the needs of each student; </p><p>• Lead the community to plan SMART goals; </p><p>• Plan and hold regular collaborative team meetings focusing on curriculum, student needs and results; </p><p>• Engage their team to identify collective commitments to guide collaboration; </p><p>• Initiate strategies and lead colleagues to implement pastoral care and classroom management; </p><p>• Engage in the development/implementation of AIP’s; </p><p>• Communication between staff and Exec; </p><p>• Mentoring of new staff to the team; </p><p>• Apply professional learning and improve student learning; </p><p>• Plan and hold regular collaborative team meetings focusing on curriculum, student needs and results; and, </p><p>• When appropriate, lead the staff in areas of professional development. </p><p><i><u>Standard 7 - Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community: </u></i></p><p>• Engage with the parents/carers; </p><p>• Communicate effectively with staff and parents in relation to student learning; </p><p>• Provide opportunities for parents and the wider community to meet collectively to explain process and practices related to year level curriculums; </p><p>• Lead PLC events (e.g. transition programs, sacramental programs in consultation with the REC); </p><p>• Facilitate meetings with parents and students in areas of academic concern and ensure all follow up work is completed in a timely and professional manner; </p><p>• Reinforce established protocols and procedures for positive behaviours; </p><p>• Engage with professional teaching networks and broader communities; </p><p>• Celebrate the successes with the team and the wider school community; </p><p>• Provide opportunities for parents and the wider community to meet collectively to explain process and practices related to year level curriculums; and, </p><p>• Lead PLC events (e.g. transition programs, sacramental programs in consultation with the REC). </p><p><b>Essential Criteria: </b></p><p>1. A demonstrated understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and its mission; </p><p>2. Have an understanding of the employer’s requirements and act in accordance with Catholic Education and the College’s policies, guidelines and procedures. Ensure that school policies are reflected in daily practice. </p><p>3. Ability to participate in College meetings to inform and be informed. </p><p>4.
