Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more then 20,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.

<p><b>Location:</b> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p><p dir="ltr">The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this three (3) year full time fixed term position with Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) commencing as soon as possible.</p> <p dir="ltr">This position sits within the Workplace Safety and Wellbeing Team, a dynamic and energetic sub-team that contributes to the broader People and Culture service area through the design and delivery of a comprehensive workplace safety and wellbeing framework.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">This role will focus on providing work health and safety advice, guidance and direction to our Catholic primary and secondary schools as well as our office sites so that our obligations under relevant WHS laws and regulations are met.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p dir="ltr">SCOPE OF THE ROLE:</p> <p dir="ltr">The key function of the role is to monitor and review the existing workplace safety and wellbeing framework for CEDoW and develop and implement contemporary health, safety, and wellbeing programs and initiatives tailored specifically to the educational sector.</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Provide a high level of expert support in the area of Work Health and Safety to schools and office sites within CEDoW.</li> <li dir="ltr">Develop WHS resources so that schools remain compliant with WHS laws and regulations particular to the educational work environment.</li> <li dir="ltr">Keep up to date with current and emerging WHS matters that impact the education sector.</li> <li dir="ltr">Create a culture where safety is considered in every part of the school and office sites operations.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">An understanding of and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic system of schools.</li> <li dir="ltr">Demonstrated knowledge of WHS laws, regulations and industry standards for WHS compliance.</li> <li dir="ltr">Demonstrated ability in researching, designing and implementing WHS policies, procedures, programs and training modules.</li> <li dir="ltr">Demonstrated capacity to drive positive initiatives and change in complex environments.</li> <li dir="ltr">Demonstrated capacity to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.</li> <li dir="ltr">Ability to represent the organisation in an honest, ethical and professional way.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Knowledge of and/or experience working in the education sector.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">GENERAL CAPABILITIES</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Excellent interpersonal skills.</li> <li dir="ltr">Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li> <li dir="ltr">Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.</li> <li dir="ltr">Ability to maintain confidentiality and display discretion.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr">Tertiary qualifications – degree qualified preferred – work health and safety, human resources, health, psychology or other related disciplines.</li> <li dir="ltr">At least 3-5 years working in the area of workplace safety.</li> <li dir="ltr">Trained as a WHS auditor.</li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCE</p> <p dir="ltr">This role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.</p> <p>Applicants must be able to comply with any NSW&nbsp;Public&nbsp;Health&nbsp;Orders&nbsp;pertaining to Education that are in place as of the commencement date of this position.
