<p>Commencing January 2023, or earlier by negotiation, St John&#39;s Catholic College Darwin is seeking to appoint a Food and Hospitality / Home Economics Teacher on a full time contract until December 2024. The successful applicant will be required to teach another learning area as Food and Hospitality consists of two thirds of a full time load.</p><p><b>Essential Criteria:</b></p><p>1. A demonstrated understanding of the ethos of a Catholic school and its mission. </p><p>2. Ability to plan, prepare and deliver teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students; which are consistent with relevant curriculum policies, work programs and education trends. </p><p>3. Knowledge of and the ability to implement effective and inclusive teaching and learning processes, including the use of learning technology and assessment, to establish a challenging learning environment in which students are encouraged to work towards attainment of their potential. </p><p>4. Ability to communicate effectively with students, their families and the wider community through appropriate interpersonal skills. </p><p>5. Ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to establishing and maintaining a supportive learning environment. </p><p>6. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with school staff, parents and members of the local school community in order to establish and develop productive partnerships, in an intercultural environment to achieve optimal educational outcomes. </p><p>7. Commitment to maintain current and relevant professional learning and meet the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. </p><p>8. Current registration with the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory and a current Working with Children Clearance (NT).</p><p>9. COVID-19 vaccination status as per NT CHO vaccination mandate.</p><p><b>Highly Desired Criteria:</b><br /></p><p>1. Qualifications and/or experience in working with students from an EALD background.</p><p>2. Capacity to deliver other subjects across the Learning Areas.</p><p>3. Relevant qualifications for the Learning Area. </p><p>4. Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular program of the College.</p><p>5.
