St Bernard’s College is a vibrant learning community providing holistic boys’ education with a strong focus on academic excellence. The College is seeking to appoint a Maintenance Officer. The Maintenance Officer is part of the maintenance team. . This is full-time employment and is 38 hours per week Monday to Friday.

<p><b>Duties and Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>The Maintenance Officer will be required to undertake the following duties and responsibilities: </li><li>Assist the Property Manager in the day to day maintenance by providing minor maintenance and repairs to but not limited to the College buildings, assets, equipment, bus fleet, furniture and fittings. </li><li>Action and prioritise maintenance requests and calendar events for the set-up of College assemblies, masses, exams etc. </li><li>Liaise and promptly report on maintenance that is beyond the scope of the position such as tree safety, air-conditioning/heating, plumbing, electrical and glass repairs, etc. </li><li>Ensure the College gutters and roofs are clean and in good order on a regular basis where possible in line with Occupation Health and Safety (OH&amp;S) requirements. </li><li>Assist the Property Manager with the coordination of tradespersons and contractors ensuring OH&amp;S and high work standards are always met. </li><li>Ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, All work is performed in accordance with OH&amp;S Act 2004, codes and Australian Standards minimising waste of materials and time. </li><li>Proactively identify maintenance issues then rectify/initiate remedial action. </li><li>Work with other members of the college maintenance staff and provide direction as appropriate. </li><li>Ensure the College bus fleet is inspected on a regular basis. </li><li>Other duties through consultation with the Principal or Property Manager. </li></ul><p><b>Experience and Qualifications </b></p><ul><li>It is anticipated that the Maintenance Officer would have or obtain, the following: </li><li>Current Full Victorian Drivers Licence. </li><li>Hold a Medium Rigid or higher Licence or willing to obtain. </li><li>Must have a valid Working with Children Check or be able to obtain one. </li><li>Be proactive, well organised and able to work to a standard without direct supervision. </li><li>Experience in building maintenance is desirable. </li></ul><p><b>Interested? </b></p><ul><li>To apply, please submit your CV and Cover letter. </li><li>To be eligible, you must be an Australian Citizen or PR or have full working rights. </li><li>Applications close at <b>4:00 pm on Friday, 11 February 2022. </b></li></ul><p><i>The College promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children and young people. </i></p><p><i>Evidence of a valid Working with Children Check and compliance with the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions are a condition of employment.
