We are seeking a Specialist Teacher to be accountable for delivering embedded arts learning in schools in partnership with school leadership teams.

The Specialist Teacher is responsible for promoting the importance of music education throughout the Diocese and the effective delivery of embedded arts learning. More specifically you will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Contribute to the development of creative and performing arts programs and practices in and beyond the classroom</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Deliver the classroom programs in band and strings (primary school)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Capacity Build primary creative arts teachers to deliver music outcomes linking into other KLAs.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Run ensembles</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Support the delivery of the K-2 “Wired for Sound” program underpinned by the research of Dr Anita Collins.</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Demonstrated syllabus knowledge in primary music, secondary music or, ideally, K-12 music.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Experience in running a variety of instrumental and choral ensembles.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Understanding of the learning environments, programming, use of technology, teaching practices and delivery of assessment and learning feedback.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ability to work creatively and constructively to support diverse needs.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Tertiary Qualification in Music/Education</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Statements of Service</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
