An exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team on an initial 6 month contract!

We are always on the lookout for top talent to help us achieve our strategic goal of inspiring the future, through quality catholic schooling and by strengthening the professional lives of our employees.</p> <p dir="ltr">The Finance and Administration team is part of the Catholic Education Office (CEO) located in Parramatta and we aim to provide exceptional support to schools to ensure that CEDP achieves its strategic goal.</p> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About the opportunity:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">Our Finance team here at CEDP team are looking to add an experienced Financial Accountant to our supportive team. This role will be on an initial 6 month contract and will report to the Senior Financial Accountant. The focus of your role will be to efficiently support the achievement of month end processes and to assist with multiple projects. More specifically you will:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assist in monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation of General Ledger, preparation and processing of month end accounting journals;</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assist in preparation of and submission of FBT returns as well as annual statutory financial statements and reports including compliance with relevant accounting standards and coordinating the annual external audit function</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Manage intercompany account reconciliation</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assist in preparation of financial acquittals and other reporting to external parties including CSNSW, AGDET, NSW DoE, ACNC, etc in accordance with regulatory guidelines/agreements</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assist in preparation of cash flow for recurrent operations and capital programs.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Undertake asset accounting tasks by partnering with relevant departments</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Assist with ad hoc reporting and accounting projects</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Implementing, maintaining and monitoring policies, procedures and practices to provide sound financial management and financial tools and technologies to CEDP office and schools</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr"><strong>About you:</strong></p> <p dir="ltr">To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the purpose and core values of CEPD along with:</p> <ul> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Strong technical accounting skills with up to date knowledge of IFRS</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Relevant tertiary qualifications and CA/CPA qualified</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Exposure to Tech One or any large ERP (eg SAP)</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">3-4 years experience in a similar function.</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Team player with effective verbal communication skills to build ongoing relationships with internal stakeholders and manage client expectations</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Adaptability and the drive to follow tasks through to completion both accurately and to required timeframes</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Strong experience with month end recs</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Audit experience - preparing schedules</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Statutory reporting and FBT experience</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Ideally exposure to education, not for profit sector but this is not essential</p> </li> <li dir="ltr" style="list-style-type: disc"> <p dir="ltr">Strong excel skills to manage large volume of data</p> </li> </ul> <p dir="ltr">We believe that our employee community is a key strength of our organisation and we aim to attract the best talent to achieve our strategic goal of being leaders in quality, faith-based education and an Employer of Choice in our sector.
