The College is seeking applications for a suitably qualified full-time Junior Humanities and Religious Education teacher for Junior and Senior levels. The position is a fixed term contract for the 2022 school year.
<p>The main responsibilities of the position include:
</p><ul><li>Providing opportunities for student engagement through a variety of learning experiences where they are encouraged and supported in achieving personal excellence;
</li><li>Providing students with positive role modelling as a committed Catholic educator;
</li><li>Supporting students with individual and group work in accordance with the work requirements outlined in the course of studies;
</li><li>Assisting the Key Learning Leaders in reviewing, designing and developing curriculum;
</li><li>Positively contributing to the St Bernard’s College teaching team;
</li><li>Participating in extra-curricular programs; and
</li><li>Other tasks as directed by the Key Learning Area Leader’s and Deputy Principal.
</li></ul><p>The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification with current VIT registration and demonstrate the following competencies:
</p><ul><li>Experience teaching Humanities at Junior level and Religious Education at Junior and Senior levels;
</li><li>Understanding of and demonstrated commitment to the Catholic philosophy and ethos of education;
</li><li>Understanding of the pastoral care needs of boys in a Catholic secondary school;
</li><li>Experience within a Catholic educational organisation an advantage.
