We are seeking a temporary Learning Support Officer with knowledge and insights in special needs education.

<p>We are seeking a temporary Learning Support Officer with knowledge and insights in special needs education. The contract will be for the 2022 school year.</p><p>Primary Duties:<br /></p><ul><li>Work within a multi-disciplinary K-12 setting by supporting students with a range of significant and complex learning needs, including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental delays and disorders within and outside the classroom;</li><li>Support staff in the implementation of personalised plans and interventions for students;</li><li>Work collaboratively with staff in the delivery of a range of intervention strategies so that students can more effectively access learning programs;</li><li>Attend to the personal needs of students;</li><li>Attend to specific medical needs of students (with relevant training);</li><li>Operate audio-visual and learning technologies related to classroom programs; </li><li>Assist with the preparation of special teaching aids for use with students.</li></ul><p>Essential Criteria:<br /></p><ul><li>Demonstrated commitment to the ethos of Catholic Education;</li><li>Experience as a Learning Support Officer in a primary or secondary school;</li><li>Experience in supporting staff to provide for students with significant disabilities and special learning needs;</li><li>Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills;</li><li>Experience working in a multidisciplinary team including health and educational professionals.</li></ul><p><br /></p>
