We are seeking an enthusiastic NESA-qualified teacher of PDHPE Courses in Stages 3 – 6, including HSC PDHPE. This includes the coordination of rep sport & liaison with Voyager Tennis Academy. You will be a committed educator with a deep passion for PE & Health. You will be motivated to ensure inspirational engagement with and the continued academic achievement of our students from Year 5 – 12.

<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p><ul><li>Plan and implement creative and well-sequenced teaching and learning programs that engage and challenge students, promote learning and have high expectations of students.<br /></li><li>Have in-depth knowledge of the NESA PDHPE curriculum for Stages 3 – 6. </li><li>Maintain teaching programs and registers and other appropriate assessment records as required by the College. </li><li>Use a range of teaching and learning strategies to deliver quality teaching that engages and challenges students. </li><li>Be responsive to student learning styles by differentiating teaching and learning delivery. </li><li>Demonstrate a passion for and experience in assisting students to achieve learning outcomes to the best of their ability. </li><li>Use continuous assessment and constructive feedback to inform teaching practices personally and within the department. </li><li>Work collaboratively within the faculty and across all support systems in the College for the benefit of student learning. </li><li>Engage in constructive, positive and meaningful communication with parents/carers in a timely manner. </li><li>Prepare regular and meaningful feedback to students and write constructive, positive student reports that reflect a deep understanding of the student and their learning continuum. </li><li>Adhere to deadlines. </li><li>Perform wellbeing and other duties as required. </li><li>Attend all mandatory College functions such as but not limited to Speech Night, Sports Carnivals, Parent / Teacher Interviews, Information Sessions. </li><li>Attend College performances regularly. </li><li>Participate in and contribute to the College’s Professional Development Programs. </li></ul><p>KEY CHALLENGES </p><ul><li>Have high expectations for each student and ensure that they feel heard and extended with a sense of belonging. </li><li>Maintaining records as required for NESA Registration and Accreditation process. </li><li>Inspire an ongoing passion, engagement and motivation in students. </li><li>Inspire students for success in HSC examinations, external competitions / tournaments and for life. </li><li>Managing time effectively. </li><li>Sensitive handling of parental expectations, particularly where these are unrealistic in consultation with the Head of PDHPE. </li><li>Be mindful of each student’s wellbeing and seek assistance as required. </li></ul><p>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR ALL ROLES<br /></p><ul><li>A current Working With Children Check (WWCC).</li><li>Evidence of a triple COVID-19 vaccination. </li><li>Completed Child Safe Applicant Declaration (attached)</li><li>You must advise the Principal prior to employment of any matter that would affect your employment or the reputation of the College. </li></ul><p>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THIS ROLE</p><ul><li>Have successfully completed tertiary studies in an area relevant to this position and hold an NSW recognised teaching qualification.</li><li>Be a NESA-registered teacher. </li><li>Have proven success in teaching HSC 2U PDHPE. </li><li>Demonstrate proven success in teaching Stages 3 – 6 NESA PDHPE Curriculum. </li><li>Demonstrate ability to liaise successfully with colleagues, students and parents. </li></ul><p><b>PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE TWO ATTACHMENTS FOR THE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION AND THE CHILD SAFE APPLICANT DECLARATION</b></p><p>PLEASE INCLUDE WITH YOUR APPLICATION </p><ul><li>Cover letter, addressing the selection criteria and acknowledging that you have no knowledge of any Child Protection allegations against you AND any professional misconduct allegations concerning you.</li><li>A full Curriculum Vitae. </li><li>Current Working with Children Check. </li><li>Triple COVID-19 vaccination certificate. </li><li>Current First Aid certificate. </li><li>Completed Child Safe Applicant Declaration. </li><li>Contact details of two (2) professional referees, one of which must be from your latest employer. </li></ul><p>PLEASE ADDRESS YOUR APPLICATION TO </p><p>The Principal, Mrs Maxine Kohler<br />recruitment&#64;mcdonald.nsw.edu.au</p><p><br /></p>
