Your primary responsibilities will be to ensure the wellbeing of all students from Prep through to Year 12 and more broadly supporting and educating the school community. </p><p>Your key tasks &amp; responsibilities will include: </p><ul><li>Provide primary and emergency nursing care for sick or injured students or staff</li><li>Provide accurate clinical assessment of students with ongoing health concerns to ensure effective management, development of care plans and referral where required</li><li>Plan and implement management plans for those with chronic health concerns and for those returning to the School after illness/injury</li><li>Assist in the planning of camps, excursions and overseas trips by providing information on health and wellbeing of students</li><li>As the Principal’s nominee, manage the care of students at risk of anaphylaxis including contact with parent/s, staff education, student education and compliance with Government regulations and guidelines</li><li>To organise and coordinate relevant staff education and health promotion programs ie. First Aid</li><li> Assist with review of School policies regarding health and wellbeing. i.e. Child Safety Policy</li><li>Develop an annual outcome Action Plan that identifies a strategic approach to health promotion in accordance with the School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan</li><li>Consult with and advise school leadership on the development of health policies and practices that promote positive health outcomes and reduce risk taking behaviour amongst young people</li><li>Support the school community in addressing contemporary health and social issues facing young people and families</li><li>Ensure compliance with all relevant State, Federal and professional legislation and regulations, e.g. Ministerial Order 706 (Anaphylaxis) and Ministerial Order 870 (Child Safe Standards)</li><li>Practice in accordance with legislation related to school nursing practice and child and adolescent healthcare</li><li>Assist School Psychologists with programs and student management as required</li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>About you </b></p><p>To be successful in this position, not only is it essential that you have the skills and expertise, you must also have the willingness to immerse yourself within the school community and truly become part of the team. </p><p>In addition, you will have the following skill set; </p><ul><li>Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of school nursing incorporating child and adolescent health and development</li><li>Ability to work proactively to promote a positive approach to health promotion within the school community and effectively engage and understand the health needs of children and adolescents</li><li>Practice in accordance with legislation related to school nursing practice and child and adolescent healthcare</li><li>Understanding the key policies and procedures pertaining to the role i.e. Mandatory Reporting, Child Safe Policy</li><li>Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the school community</li><li>A balanced tolerant and sensitive approach to others and a capacity to be flexible and implement changes as required</li><li>Ability to work under pressure in a calm and considerate manner</li><li>Confidence to work autonomously and as a team member</li></ul><p>And the following qualifications;</p><ul><li>Current Registered Nurse, Division 1 with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia</li><li>Current First Aid Qualifications Level 3 (updated every three years)</li><li>First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis (22300VIC) (updated every three years)</li></ul><p>It is also preferred that you may also hold the following qualifications, however not essential; </p><ul><li>Course in Verifying the Correct Use of Adrenaline Auto Injector Devices (22303VIC)</li><li>Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE 40110)</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>A National Criminal Record Check and Working with Children&#39;s Check are essential requirements for this role.</p><p>This position is full time, ongoing. </p><p>If this sounds like the role for you then don’t hesitate, apply online now by clicking the ‘apply’ button. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>Applications close on Friday 21 January 2022 </b></p><p><br /></p><p>Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak is a child safe employer and is committed to the welfare of children and their protection.
