<p><img src="https://publicstorage.dc2.pageuppeople.com/1040/ProviderAsset/fcf4ffa7-986b-4808-8399-11851e195378.jpg" alt="" width="951" height="272" align=""></p> <p style="padding-left: 60px"><img src="https://publicstorage.dc2.pageuppeople.com/1040/ProviderAsset/scribble/6da84c17-46b2-4e74-b92d-21e36adca08f.jpg" width="134" height="155" align="left" hspace="12"><strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;</strong></p> <p style="padding-left: 60px"><strong><span style="color: #000080"><span style="font-size: 18pt">&nbsp; &nbsp; EDUCATION OFFICER - Child Protection</span></span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt">Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst</span><br></strong><strong><br></strong>Are you keen to be part of a team that enhances and supports the safety and wellbeing of children within our school system?<br>Based in Bathurst, the role will provide an opportunity for the development of skills and knowledge of Safeguarding.</p> <p>This area includes: Child Protection, Attendance, Allegations Against Employees, Employee Training, information exchange, embedding Children Safe Standard, development &amp; implementation of policy, Compliance and involvement in the management of critical incidents involving children and young people's safety.&nbsp;</p> <p>The role&nbsp;will provide best practice and timely advice and support to the Executive Director, Head: HR, Risk and WHS, School Principals and Executive Teachers, Education Officers and other senior staff on all matters relating to the wellbeing and safeguarding of children/child protection in schools across the Diocese of Bathurst .</p> <p>Further details of the position can be obtained by contacting: Anne Burke – Educational Officer, Child Protection.</p> <p>A position description and selection criteria are attached.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current working with children check</li> <li>Previous experience working with children and young people along with their support networks</li> <li>Degree in justice, social science, teaching, psychology or other relevant fields.</li> </ul> <p>We anticipate that people interested in this role will be able to demonstrate:</p> <ul> <li>Commitment and capacity to support the values and ethos of the Catholic Tradition in the workplace</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of the structural and operational running of schools</li> <li>Ability to support school staff improve the safety and wellbeing of students&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong communicator with effective negotiation and influencing skills</li> <li>The ability to develop and tailor learning opportunities to the relevant audience&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrate a capacity to self- manage workloads, display initiative, and work collaboratively as part of a team</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively and collegially across diverse areas of our organisation and external networks</li> <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality</li> <li>Possess sound computer skills</li> <li>Capability to assess, priorities, and implement effective incident management plans</li> <li>Hold appropriate qualifications and working with children check</li> <li>Understand legislative and compliance obligations&nbsp;</li> <li>Access organisational capacity in the area of safeguarding</li> <li>Build and enhance current safeguarding capacity within our schools and their leaders</li> <li>The Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst is committed to being a child safe organisation, it is expected that all staff conduct themselves in accordance with the code of conduct and are committed to the safety, welfare &amp; wellbeing of children.
