The College has an exciting opportunity for a Primary Teacher in the role of Literacy and Numeracy Specialist commencing Term 1, 2022.

We are a vibrant community that values passionate and committed staff who actively support the College in its purpose as a Christ-centred community, seeking to develop extraordinary learners with a passion to serve others.</p><p>As a <b>Literacy and Numeracy Specialist</b> at William Clarke College, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, targeted instruction for students in key foundational areas across the Primary School. This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 1, 2022.         </p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b><br /></p><ul><li>Work across the Primary School in small groups leading learning in the areas of literacy and numeracy<br /></li><li>Drive and lead reflection on student learning and instigate data-informed changes on year levels</li><li>Work with the Director of Teaching and Learning (P – 6) to strategise, implement and refine high yield / high impact teaching practices for individual students and small groups of students across Primary grades</li></ul><p><b>Additional Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li>Collaborate with core class teachers, Grade Co-ordinators, Gifted and Talented Teacher, Learning Support, Director of Teaching and Learning (P – 6), Assistant Head of Primary and the Head of Primary School as required<br /></li><li>Teach a streamed Mathematics group in Years 1 – 6 or provide targeted teaching of Mathematics in Kindergarten classes</li><li>Lead a Spelling Mastery group</li><li>Provide targeted reading instruction</li><li>Work across Primary year groups providing literacy and numeracy Tier 2 and Tier 3 support</li><li>Communicate and meet with parents about their child’s learning, wellbeing and behaviour, as appropriate</li><li>Contribute to Primary Reports and attend Parent-Teacher Interviews, as appropriate</li><li>Conduct Primary standardised tests and progress monitoring tests</li><li>Interpret and analyse data</li><li>Initiative in integration of learning technologies into the learning program</li><li>Uphold the Christian teachings of the College, encouraging students to serve others and explore Christ</li><li>Active participation in co-curricular activities, carnivals, camps, excursions and events as well as fulfilment of other duty of care responsibilities as directed by the College</li><li>Display a commitment to continued professional growth through self-reflection and further learning</li></ul><p><b>Skills / Knowledge / Attributes</b></p><ul><li>Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other teachers, and work as part of a team, including the ability to confidently and constructively debate ideas with your teaching partner<br /></li><li>Demonstrated passion for child-centred learning, and proven ability to effectively engage students, together with excellent classroom management skills</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the syllabus and assessment strategies</li><li>Work ethic reflecting a commitment to excellence in teaching</li><li>Regularly practicing member of a Christian church</li><li>Experience in effective implementation of Synthetic Phonics and Number Sense programs is desirable</li><li>Ability and confidence to openly share the Christian faith with students</li><li>Excellent organisation and planning skills; must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities within strict deadlines</li><li>Ability and willingness to be flexible when working within a team</li></ul><p>To apply for this role, submit your Cover Letter and CV via our Careers Portal by <b>Sunday 12 December</b>. </p><p><i>William Clarke College is a child safe workplace; all successful candidates will be subject to a Working with Children Check prior to commencement.<br /></i></p><p><i>Under the Public Health (COVID-19 Vaccination of Education and Care Workers) Order 2021, all successful candidates are required to provide evidence of double-dose vaccination or medical contraindication. </i><br /></p>
