<p>Parade College is a leading Catholic Boys Secondary School located in Melbourne. Parade College is a member of the national body of Catholic schools known as Edmund Rice Education Australia (EREA). Parade College, in common with these schools, takes its inspiration from Br Edmund Rice, founder of the Christian Brothers. The values of the College are enshrined in the Charter for Edmund Rice Schools, and in the College Mission Statement. </p><p>As a long-standing Catholic school for boys in the Edmund Rice tradition, Parade College strives to be a learning community that offers best practice education and pastoral care to its students to foster fullness of life and holistic growth for all. </p><p>Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovated teachers of Design and Technologies Materials (Wood).</p><p>The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and a passion for Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition and the safety and wellbeing of children.  </p><p><b>The Position</b><br /></p><p>This position supports the College’s Year 9 Elective (ExCEL) program. In addition to the subject offerings, the Year 9 ExCEL program offers Year 9 students a variety of Extended Learning Projects, as well as learning4life: a series of Personal Development seminars. </p><p> </p><p>Technology, Design and Creativity at Parade College engages students in investigating, designing, producing and evaluating products that provide a solution to a design problem. Students are expected to work creatively by applying their imagination, together with lateral and critical thinking throughout the design processes. Product Design is a vital step in transforming ideas into creative, practical and commercial products. Students use tools, equipment and materials components safely and creatively to make quality products and/or systems. Students learn to evaluate their products and technological systems in relation to environmental, social and economic factors.<br /></p><p>The Classroom Teacher at Parade College supports each student to be challenged to grow in knowledge and maturity, according to his potential, in all aspects of his life.<br /></p><p> Teachers at Parade College are highly competent, passionate and engaged in their practice. They work hard to inspire students to be critical and deep thinkers, as well as problem solvers and responsible contributors to the global community.
