We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Enhanced Learning Teacher/Facilitator to join us on a 12 month fixed term basis

The College is committed to achieving excellence in all its forms. </p><p>St Patrick’s College is embarking upon an exciting period in its long and distinguished history with the development of a new Strategic Plan for 2022-2024, with an emphasis on further improving and enhancing the academic culture of the College, collaboration through a variety of teaching and learning teams and the ongoing pastoral care of students. The College is about to commence the construction of a major new Multi-Purpose Facility, the realignment and resurfacing of the College’s main oval and a range of initiatives to further enhance the educational resources and opportunities for all students attending the College. </p><p>We are currently recruiting for an <b>Enhanced Learning Teacher/Facilitator</b> (POL) with teaching on Fixed Term for 2022 School year. </p><p>This role leads the development, implementation and review of programs and resources to support students with a range of identified learning needs and is responsible for the management of those students. </p><p><b>Your duties and responsibilities: </b></p><ul><li>Be available as a contact for parents, teachers, counselling and learning support staff who require support regarding students with identified learning needs and to assist in finding and developing appropriate intervention and/or services to support these students. </li><li>Conduct Parent Support Group (PSG) meetings. </li><li>Assist in the preparation and review of NCCD data. </li><li>Liaising with the Enhanced Learning Coordinator regarding student progress, issues and concerns. </li><li>Being a member of and advising the Enhanced Learning team to ensure that students of all learning abilities are catered for within the programs provided. </li><li>Assisting staff with programming and resourcing for students with identified needs. </li><li>Updating the Enhanced Learning team at the fortnightly meeting regarding the progress of students with additional needs. </li><li>Attending and contributing to fortnightly Enhanced Learning Facilitator meetings chaired by the Enhanced Learning Coordinator. </li><li>Facilitate discussions regarding subject and career pathway options for identified students with the support of relevant staff. </li><li>Ensuring VCE Special Provision arrangements are in place for eligible identified students and that the appropriate supportive documentation has been obtained. </li><li>Liaising with external professionals and agencies. </li><li>Refer to Student Services for screening of possible learning difficulties as directed by the Enhanced Learning Coordinator. </li><li>Assisting with the facilitation of the extra transition morning for identified students. </li><li>Being flexible, discreet, empathetic and non-judgemental. Adopting resilience and creativity in order to deal with difficult situations and solve intricate problems. </li></ul><p>Your experience and qualifications: </p><ul><li>Teaching background with appropriate qualifications and experience. </li><li>Post graduate qualifications relevant to the role, or willing to commence relevant study during the tenure. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in educational leadership and an understanding of the issues specific to teaching boys. </li><li>Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in managing, mentoring and developing staff. </li><li>Understanding of the requirements as outlined in the course of study and other documentation for teachers teaching VCE, VET, Victorian Curriculum, Australian Curriculum or Awakenings. </li></ul><p><b>You&#39;ll need to respond to the key selection criteria below: </b></p><ol><li>Understanding and demonstrated commitment to the Catholic philosophy and ethos of education, specifically in the Touchstones of EREA. </li><li>Experience and interest in the education of boys, including those boys with identified learning needs. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to successfully develop innovative curriculum initiatives that enhance educational outcomes for boys with identified learning need. </li><li>Experience in working as part of an integrated team of teachers. </li><li>Demonstrated capacity to respond and lead in the areas noted in the Duties and Responsibilities set out above. </li></ol><p>Applications close at 9.00pm on Monday, 6 December 2021.
