The school is situated in a natural setting and has been designed to allow students and staff to feel at home in developing their varied capacities and skills. The growth of the students is nurtured and encouraged by a supportive faculty through the provision of creative freedom, empowerment of the individual and opportunities for prayer and reflection. This position is an exciting, and potentially career defining role, for a school leader. We are looking for a transformational leader with the ability to provide a visionary and forward-thinking approach in maintaining high standards and excellent education outcomes for students. As the Principal you will lead the school community in developing and shaping a shared vision on providing quality educational experiences and learning outcomes for all students while nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, and key stakeholders. This position comes with the exciting opportunity to influence, mentor and support the learning and growth of teachers at their various stages of experience and to assist them in setting their own high standards for the students in their care. <p> The Catholic school Principal serves as faith leader and reflects Catholic discipleship, personal and professional integrity and a commitment to serving the needs of others. Modelling faith in action, the Principal will lead across the school community to develop and shape a shared vision focussed on providing quality educational experiences and learning outcomes for all students while nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and all other stakeholders. The Principal has responsibility for supporting and monitoring the learning and growth of effective teachers and setting high standards for students and staff performance. The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle has an abiding commitment to promote the safety, welfare and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults - particularly those who participate in the life of the Diocese. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check and, where legislated, hold a Working with Children Check. Diocesan workers are expected to personally adopt and enact the Diocese’s Safeguarding Commitment Statement. </p> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <p> • A practising Catholic with a personal commitment to Catholic Education who can clearly demonstrate their vision and commitment to leading and learning within our Diocesan community <br>• Postgraduate qualifications in Religious Education, Theological Studies, or a willingness to enrol and complete within four years of appointment <br>• Postgraduate qualifications in Educational Leadership combined with a minimum of ten years teaching experience or an equivalent combination of experience, training and achievement <br>• Demonstrated ability to articulate and create a shared improvement, innovation and change agenda that aligns with system priorities to embed a culture of high expectations for student learning and evidence-based high impact teacher practice <br>• Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with all key stakeholders sensitively and actively, and demonstrated capacity to build solid trusting relationships with students, staff and parents <br>• An ability to effectively analyse and respond to student data on Catholic identity, academic performance, behaviour, and wellbeing to enhance learning outcomes. <br>• Demonstrated ability to effectively optimise the school’s human, financial and physical resources to deliver high quality organisational and educational outcomes <br>• Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislative and legal frameworks including equity and diversity, work health and safety and performance management principles in the management of staff and the capacity to implement relevant plans and policies to ensure strong governance <br>• Willingness to comply with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category E – Accreditation for Senior Leadership The applicant must provide evidence of the following: <br>• Four-year trained teacher classification <br>• NESA Accredited <br>• Current NESA and Working with Children number <br>• Completion of anaphylaxis training <br>• Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status </p> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <p> • Experience working across more than one school setting <br>• Active participation and leadership in education forums (i.e. Principal/Assistant Principal Professional Associations/Networks) </p> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <p> Salary is in accordance with NSW and ACT Catholic Systemic Schools Principals Multi- Enterprise Agreement 2020. </p> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <p> BENEFITS including: • A corporate fitness program; • Employee assistance program (EAP); • Paid parental leave; • Training and staff development programs; • Access to long service leave after just five years; and • Opportunity for leasing motor vehicles.
