<p>Chevalier College is seeking applications for a full-time Business Manager to commence in 2022.</p><p>The purpose of the role is to have responsibility for managing the macro financial, property and administrative functions of the school. The Business Manager is responsible for all matters of business administration and financial control including the annual budget, cash flow, fees collection, rebates, payment of accounts and property matters. </p><p>In the areas of budget preparation and financial planning the Business Manager will liaise with the Principal, the Finance Manager and members of the College Board’s Finance and Risk Management Committee. </p><p>The Business Manager attends meetings of the College Board of Directors and is an advisor to the Board on financial, compliance and company matters. This responsibility requires the Business Manager to review and develop the Business Continuity Plan for the school and the company. </p><p>As a member of the College Leadership Team this position also has responsibility for contributing to the overall wellbeing and education of all students in the care of the College and for participating in leading, developing and maintaining the college’s MSC ethos and philosophy. This requires attendance at various events outside of traditional school hours. </p><p><b>Essential Criteria</b><br /></p><ul><li>Appropriate qualifications and experience in financial management, project management and governance and compliance structures. </li><li>Highly developed negotiation skills for projects such as building developments, contractor liaison, risk management, insurance and WHS. </li><li>High level organisational and communication skills. </li><li>The capacity to lead a diverse team to achieve a collaborative and harmonious work environment. </li><li>The ability to negotiate business transactions successfully and to ensure effective record-keeping and regulatory compliance requirements are met. </li><li>The ability to proactively seek out and implement opportunities that are financially advantageous to the College, whilst remaining true to the ethos of the College. </li><li>The ability to liaise with and follow up external agencies with regards to debtors. </li><li>Empathy with conviction. </li><li>The ability to maintain strict confidentiality with all College business and personal matters. </li><li>A commitment to promoting MSC values and practices. </li><li>The ability to develop and sustain strong, appropriate relationships that support and enhance the charism in the college. </li></ul><p><b>Desirable Criteria </b></p><ul><li>Commercial experience in management accounting. </li><li>Sound overview of taxation implications for a non-government, not for profit organisation. </li><li>Understanding and practical knowledge of administrative software and infrastructure, and their use in a busy office environment. </li><li>The ability and experience to act as a company secretary. </li></ul><p><b>Other </b></p><ul><li>Full-time position with an initial contract period of five years that may be extended for up to a further five years. </li><li>A formation, appraisal and support program will be discussed with the successful applicant. </li><li>The position is equivalent to an Assistant Principal for salary determination. </li><li>Conditions will be as per the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Support Staff – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2020. </li><li>This is a child-related position. Preferred candidates are required to possess a valid a Working With Children Check and will be subject to identification verification.</li><li>Preferred candidates are required to have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, and agree to receive additional vaccination doses (booster shots) in accordance with Government requirements and/or recommendations made from time to time; or have an approved medical exemption from vaccination.  </li></ul><p> </p>
