<p>The College is seeking an Outdoor Educator to be based at our Santa Monica campus in Lorne. The College runs a camp program for Year 9 students at Santa Monica which provides for outdoor activities such as canoeing, mountain bike riding and bushwalking. The position is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract for the 2022 school year, commencing 27 January 2022 and concluding 26 January 2023.
</p><p>Responsibilities:
</p><ul><li>Work in a team of Outdoor Educators to deliver safe and educational programs to year 9 students;
</li><li>Provide instruction on and participate in activities such as canoeing, mountain bike riding and bushwalking;
</li><li>Educate, supervise, engage and ensure the safety of students;
</li><li>Support student’s educational, wellbeing and pastoral needs;
</li><li>Encourage and assist student participation in outdoor recreation experiences;
</li><li>Support and implement College regulations/policies/procedures/practices; and
</li><li>There is a requirement for the Outdoor Educator to be at our Essendon campus Monday mornings to drive students to the Santa Monica campus and return back on the Friday
</li></ul><p>You will need to demonstrate current:
</p><ul><li>Qualifications in Outdoor Recreation or Education (Certificate IV level or higher);
</li><li>Remote First Aid;
</li><li>Community Surf Bronze Award/Surf Rescue Certificate or APOLLA Qualification;
</li><li>Canoeing Flat Water Instructor;
</li><li>Working with Children Check;
</li><li>National Police Records Check;
</li><li>Light Rigid Bus Licence; and
</li><li>Hiking and Mountain biking experience
</li><li>Previous experience in a similar role will be well regarded
