From anywhere in Australia, you’ll work under the direction of the Curriculum Resources Coordinator to contribute to the expanding suite of Australians Together curriculum resources. You’ll be responsible for writing and refining curriculum resources and materials that are aligned with Australians Together’s guidelines and that teachers will want to use.

We aim to teach non-Indigenous people the true story of our shared history, increase understanding of how it’s still having an impact today, and promote meaningful ways to respond. </p><p>We support teachers to confidently teach First Nations perspectives with professional learning and curriculum resources. We also have resources for workplaces, churches and all people who call Australia home. </p><p>THE ROLE </p><p>As a Curriculum Resources writer, you’ll work under the direction of the Curriculum Resources Coordinator to contribute to the expanding suite of Australians Together curriculum resources. You’ll be responsible for writing and refining curriculum resources and materials that are aligned with Australians Together’s guidelines and that teachers will want to use. </p><p>You’ll write curriculum resources that meet AITSL Teaching Standards 1.4 and 2.4 and that assist teachers to deliver the Australian Curriculum’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority. You’ll be writing for Foundation through to Year 6 across learning areas, often with a cross- or inter-disciplinary teaching and learning approach. </p><p>To ensure the accuracy and relevance of the resources, the role includes consultation with First Nations cultural experts as required. </p><p>YOU ARE … </p><p>• <b>culturally savvy:</b> You understand the importance of cultural intelligence and intercultural understanding and the place it has within the education sector. </p><p>• <b>a writer at heart:</b> You can organise ideas, structure a piece of curriculum and your sentences make sense! You’re a stickler for spelling and grammar and have an excellent eye for detail. </p><p>• <b>a curriculum expert:</b> You’re familiar with the Australian Curriculum and AITSL Standards. You know what will engage students and meets the needs of teachers. </p><p>• <b>a researcher lover:</b> You love fact finding and assessing sources for quality and relevance. </p><p>• <b>detail-oriented: </b>You have an excellent eye for detail; you can plan, juggle and organise your goals and tasks to ensure everything is running smoothly. </p><p>• <b>proactive and can-do: </b>You’re enthusiastic and motivated with a can-do approach; you thrive in a team environment and can work independently when needed. With your great time-management skills, you can plan effectively to get things done. </p><p>• <b>a fast learner: </b>You instinctively adapt to change and challenges while keeping your cool. </p><p>KEY WORK EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS </p><p>• Passion for working with First Nations or other non-dominant cultural contexts </p><p>• A tertiary qualification in education </p><p>• Classroom experience in the last five years </p><p>• Evidence of experience in producing high-quality, effective teaching and learning resources for the primary years </p><p>• Excellence in managing time and meeting deadlines </p><p>• Excellent written and oral communication skills </p><p>• Proficient computer skills, especially MS Word </p><p>• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team </p><p>Desirable experience and skills </p><p>• Knowledge and experience of inquiry-based learning </p><p>• Experiences working with First Nations or other non-dominant cultural contexts </p><p>Applicants are required to have suitable work-from-home accommodation. </p><p><br /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
