Highly regarded for our pastoral care, academic, sporting, music and cultural programs, we educate women who will work towards positive social change. </p><p>Our vision, to offer a Catholic education that liberates, empowers and motivates students, is supported by a strategic direction that incorporates the belief that staff are the most valuable and critical asset of the School. </p><p><br /></p><p><b>The Position </b></p><p>We are seeking a passionate Teacher to join our dedicated team, to teach Preparatory to Year 6, as a Music Teacher. </p><p>This role will facilitate, support and enhance student learning, covering a range of Music curriculum in our strong Kodály based singing Music School program. It will lead and inspire a wide cross section of ensembles with particular emphasis on Choral direction in Junior and Middle Years. </p><p>It is expected that this role will interact frequently with our extensive instrumental programs run across various year levels and aid the continued growth of our Co-curricular Music program. This role may also be involved in directing and assisting Music ensembles across the School, from P-12 as required. </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>Responsibilities of the role will include: </b></p><ul><li>Teaching Classroom Music to students in Preparatory to Year 6 </li><li>Teaching and directing Choral ensembles from Preparatory to Year 8 </li><li>Assisting in the development and implementation of a Kodály based Junior School Music program </li><li>Working collaboratively with instrumental staff in the implementation of P-6 Instrumental Programs </li><li>Leading and assisting public performances by Music students and classes </li><li>Piano accompaniment of School Music performances </li></ul><p><br /></p><p><b>About You </b></p><p>To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:</p><ul><li>Current Teaching Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching) </li><li>Relevant tertiary music and/or music education degree </li><li>Proven expertise and an innovative and engaging approach in the Music curriculum area </li><li>Evidenced practice in Kodály teaching methodology (Kodály Certification preferred) </li><li>Evidence of Choral direction experience </li><li>Excellent Keyboard accompaniment skills </li><li>Excellent communication skills to a range of audiences </li><li>A collaborative approach with colleagues in planning and delivering curriculum </li><li>Proven experience in establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff and parents </li><li>Excellent time management and organisational skills </li><li>Demonstrated desire to apply a growth mindset to professional development </li></ul><p>It is also preferred that you have current First Aid and CPR certificates, however these are not essential. </p><p><br /></p><p>This position is part time (0.5 FTE- days negotiable), fixed term for the 2022 school year, commencing Term 1. </p><p>Please include a Cover Letter and Resume with your application. </p><p>If this sounds like the role for you then don’t hesitate, apply online now by clicking the ‘apply’ button. </p><p><b><br /></b></p><p><b>Applications close on Friday 5 November 2021 </b></p><p><br /></p><p><i>Loreto Mandeville Hall Toorak is a child safe employer and is committed to the welfare of children and their protection.
