In the Mercy spirit, love, compassion and service underpin all we are and do. </i></p><p><i>At Mercy College, we believe in the ability to learn together, to work from evidence, to animate and support learners, and to lead in faith and transformation. </i></p><p>The Deputy Principal at Mercy College, Coburg has the opportunity to shape the future direction of the school, supporting and working with the Principal to build community and to model and oversee best practice in all educational and operational areas of the College. The position is a pivotal appointment to the Leadership Team and reports directly to the Principal. </p><p>The Deputy Principal has responsibility for the day to day running of the school and deputises for the Principal in her absence. The Deputy Principal will assist with the management of students and staff across the whole school. The position includes a teaching component. </p><p>Each staff member’s role is designed to contribute to the best possible educational outcomes for all students, enhance the community’s strengths and ensure careful stewardship of the College’s resources. </p><p>The nature of this role requires a willingness to be flexible and adaptive in their work hours, as required. </p><p>Appointees are expected to show understanding of and commitment to the Catholic ethos of the College. Mercy College is committed to creating and maintaining a child safe environment in which students feel safe and are safe. A condition of employment is that staff are deemed suitable to work with children.</p><p><b>Key Selection Criteria </b></p><p>1. A commitment to Catholic education </p><p>2. A passion for teaching and learning in an all-girls environment </p><p>3. The capacity to lead staff through change and improvement initiatives which result in cultural change and improved teaching and learning practice </p><p> 4. Appropriate qualification and demonstrated experience in the areas of staff and student management and bringing College key initiatives and vision to fruition </p><p>5. Excellent interpersonal, organisational and management skills which establish trust and productive relationships with staff, students, parents/guardians and the broader community </p><p>6. Capacity to work collaboratively as a member of the College Leadership Team to ensure the effective implementation of the College Strategic Plan </p><p>7.
