<p>We are seeking enthusiastic and energetic Learning Assistants. </p><p>Applicants will possess the skills and abilities necessary to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience and will embrace a collaborative approach to teaching and learning and wellbeing.</p><p>This position is a part time position and hours may be negotiated. </p><p>Role description: </p><p>• To enable students with additional needs to experience success, enjoyment, co-operation, respect, independence and responsibility for their learning</p><p>• Provide direct or indirect services to students, assist students on an individual or group basis in specific learning areas</p><p>• Work under the supervision of a teacher, school leader or the principal who has the ultimate responsibility for the design, implementation, and evaluation of education programs and related services.</p><p>• To develop positive relationships within the school community that foster a sense of belonging and partnership.</p><p>Duties: </p><p>• To work with the educators to meet the needs of the students in small groups or individually.</p><p>• To give encouragement and praise to the students.</p><p>• To provide assistance to students.</p><p>• To reinforce positive behaviours and practices.</p><p>• To supervise outside playground activities when appropriate.</p><p>• To support an individual child or children on excursions when appropriate.</p><p>• To treat all students and families with respect and dignity.</p><p>• To keep appropriate records of programs implemented.</p><p>• To observe the students’ progress, note achievements and difficulties and share observations with class teachers.</p><p>• To keep observations and information of students, parents and other employees confidential. </p><p>• To perform clerical tasks, including filing student records, making copies of assessments and other clerical tasks as directed by the Principal or Student Diversity Leader.</p><p>• To contribute to PSG meetings when appropriate.</p><p>• To attend Professional Development appropriate to their role.</p><p>• To follow directions given by the Principal or Student Diversity Leader.</p><p>Please address applications to the Principal, Mrs Joanne Webster and email to firstname.lastname@example.org</p><p>Please include a cover letter. curriculum vitae and 2 referees. <br /></p><p><br /></p>
