<div><b>About the role:</b><br /></div><p>Our school’s pedagogy reflects the overarching principles and approach to learning outlined in the Sydney Catholic Schools’ Statement on Authentic Learning. By connecting to the real world of students’ lives, authentic learning enables students to become lifelong learners who contribute to society and the wider world as active and discerning citizens. </p><p>Mary MacKillop Catholic College is an all-girls secondary school that consistently attains high levels of academic excellence. This is achieved through a personalised, yet dynamic approach to learning in which caters for each young woman’s needs, passions and aspirations.</p><p>Applications are invited from dynamic educators for the position of Leader of Curriculum. The preferred candidate will be enthusiastic, keen to engage and inspire our students and staff, and be able to lead a curriculum that caters for students with different learning styles.</p><p>You will be responsible for the leading curriculum in the school, and as such, you are a role model personally and professionally. You will have the ability to develop positive relationships, foster a culture of collaboration and inquiry and be proactive in your support of the Catholic mission and values of Mary MacKillop College.</p><p><b>The role focuses on enhancing student learning and plays a key part in providing a safe and supportive learning environment, leading the design of authentic learning, assessment and reporting programs, policies and practices, ensuring curriculum compliance and promoting high standards, high expectations and a growth mindset within the school community.</b></p><p><b>About you:</b></p><ul><li>have experience in leading a Key Learning Area or have experience as a member of a College executive team</li><li>be an experienced, highly effective, innovative and motivated educator and leader with a passion for leading learning and teaching</li><li>have an understanding of the requirements of the NSW Education Standards Authority and leads others in the implementation and use of all relevant NESA, SCS and school policies and procedures</li><li>have used data and evidence based approaches to foster school improvement</li><li>have engaged and led in processes for professional growth, reading and development of self and others</li><li>be focused on the needs of the students and the community the school serves</li><li>be committed to leading the Catholic ethos and values of our school </li><li>be an enthusiastic educator who can contribute to the culture of the school and its community</li><li>have a proven ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team, build upon its collective efficacy, and develop and lead its strategic agenda</li><li>have an understanding of the education of girls</li><li>have proven ability to differentiate instruction and personalise learning for students from Year 7 to Year 12</li><li>be experienced in assessing for learning, as learning and of learning</li><li>have demonstrated the ability to integrate and lead effective feedback in student learning</li><li>possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>possess a sound knowledge of the NSW curriculum</li><li>have a strong work ethic</li><li>possess excellent organisation skills and able to assist in the effective organisation of the school</li></ul><p><b>Selection Criteria:</b></p><p>All applications must address the following Selection Criteria. The Selection Criteria for the Leader of Curriculum position require the applicant to explain, and provide examples if relevant, of how they:</p><ul><li>have an understanding of and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic Church</li><li>demonstrate exemplary classroom practice, utilising a range of effective contemporary pedagogies</li><li>have led whole school student learning</li><li>demonstrate excellent classroom management skills</li><li>have effected change and improvement at a whole school level</li><li>have effective communication and engagement skills with students, staff and parents</li><li>have a proven ability to work collegially within a team environment</li><li>demonstrate a commitment to growing the College&#39;s culture of learning and thinking</li><li>have developed and led a strategic agenda focused on a culture of high expectations and continual improvement and innovation</li><li>demonstrate a whole school understanding of curriculum </li></ul><p>This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain a valid Working with Children Clearance.</p><p><b>Closing Date: Friday 5 November 2021</b><br /></p>
