<p><br /></p> <p>St Mary’s Cathedral College is a boys&#39; College in the heart of the city adjacent to the Cathedral. Our mission is to develop Christian students inspired by the charism of Blessed Edmund Rice, in striving for excellence in a multitude of educational opportunities provided by the College. We espouse the evangelising mission of the Church promoting Gospel Spirituality, Justice and Solidarity, an inclusive Community, and Liberating Education. We are committed to creating a Christian environment, with the teachings of Jesus Christ at its core. The Primary school has 2 composite classes with 45 students in total, while the College has over 800 students in Years 3-12 and has existed on this site for over 190 years. </p><p>There are 2 Primary stage-based composite classes - Stage 2 &amp; Stage 3. The College offers an advanced music program supported by and in conjunction with the St Mary&#39;s Cathedral Choir, College Music Department, and specialised music tutors. The boys in the Cathedral Choir attend classes at the College.</p><p>The College is underpinned by the touchstones of the Order of the Christian Brothers who led this institution for 105 years prior to 2016.</p><p>The College is seeking a dynamic, friendly, versatile person to join our teaching staff in 2022 as Leader of Learning Primary.</p> <p> </p> <p>Essential Criteria:</p> <ul><li>Sound knowledge and commitment to the Church’s mission in Catholic Education and a commitment to their personal faith.</li><li>Accreditation to teach RE according to Sydney Catholic Schools protocols.</li><li>Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal skills.</li><li>Demonstrated skills and experience in leading Primary RE curriculum development. </li><li>Evidence of leadership skills and experience in teaching Primary curriculum and development.</li><li>Capable of working with staff to embed the liberal arts into the curriculum and create opportunities in the teaching and learning cycle</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the importance of music in Primary education. </li><li>Well-informed understanding of contemporary learning and teaching practices in the Primary context.</li><li>Excellent knowledge and skills in understanding and implementing digital technologies in learning and teaching.</li><li> Ability and willingness to work collaboratively in a small Primary school context within the framework of a large Secondary school. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of the importance of music in Primary education.</li><li>Be independent, use initiative, be innovative, have excellent problem-solving skills.</li></ul> <p> </p>
