Al Zahra College is seeking a passionate and talented PYP Classroom Teacher, for the 2022 school year, who has the ability to motivate, empower and engage students in their learning, by delivering high quality and innovative lessons.

<p>The teaching position available is for a passionate and talented PYP Classroom Teacher with the ability to motivate, empower and engage students in their learning, by delivering high quality and innovative lessons. The successful applicant must be able to work effectively with others, as well display initiative to contribute to the enhancement of the College.</p><p><b>Employment Opportunity</b></p><p>PYP (Kindergarten – Year 6) Classroom Teacher</p><ul><li>Temporary Full-time Temporary beginning in January 2022 (Maternity Leave cover) with the possibility of permanency.</li><li>NESA Curriculum delivery and IB PYP Experience and/or a passion for inquiry-based and concept-driven curriculum is preferred but not essential.</li></ul><p><b>The successful applicant will have:</b></p><ul><li>Primary teaching experience </li><li>knowledge of K - 6 NESA Curriculum and IB PYP </li><li>confidence in using technology effectively in the classroom </li><li>the ability to develop positive rapport with students and colleagues within the Programme </li><li>willingness to employ a range of teaching methodologies to engage students and enhance student learning outcomes.</li></ul><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Valid Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) </li><li>Teaching qualification recognised by the New South Wales Standards Authority (NESA) </li><li>Valid NESA teaching accreditation number </li><li>Current First Aid/CPR certificate</li></ul><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li>The Primary Classroom Teacher is the advocate and mentor of students in their care. They are the primary link between the child’s home and the College. </li></ul><div>         S/he will:</div><ul><li>Design teaching and learning programs that adhere to NESA syllabus requirements and IB PYP requirements </li><li>Differentiate these programs to cater for the various learning needs of his /her students </li><li>Utilise a range of effective and engaging teaching strategies to improve student learning, including explicit instruction. </li><li>Manage challenging behaviour and establish and maintain orderly and workable routines to ensure a productive learning environment </li><li>Develop a range of formative and summative assessment strategies to assess student learning </li><li>Use student assessment data to modify teaching and learning programs </li><li>Report accurately to students and parents regarding student academic achievement </li><li>Integrate ICT into teaching and learning programs </li><li>Adhere to the College’s Code of Conduct to ensure duty of care of her students </li><li>Participate in weekly staff collaboration meetings and contribute to collegial discussions </li></ul><p><b>How to apply</b></p><p>Please apply in writing with a CV, covering letter and two references to: </p><p>Dr Wissam Mustapha, Headmaster </p><p><b>Email:</b> careers&#64;azc.nsw.edu.au</p><p>Applications are open until the position is filled.</p>
