Contract Type: Permanent/Ongoing Position Part Time (0.80 FTE)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, energetic and experienced Special Education Teachers. The successful applicant will join the School’s Diverse Learning Team and work collaboratively with all members of the school community to ensure students with identified disabilities and difficulties have access to programs designed to individually cater to their needs.

<p><b><i>Essential Criteria </i></b></p><ul><li>Sound knowledge of and commitment to our Catholic faith and mission in Catholic Education;</li><li>Qualified and accredited to teach Special Needs students or have suitable experience;</li><li>Extensive knowledge and understanding of the NCCD processes and underpinning legislations;</li><li>Extensive experience in the administration and analysing of a range of diagnostic assessments to identify and meet the needs of a wide range of students;</li><li>Proven capacity to develop collaborative personalised learning plans for students with a disability and coordinate the evidence required to support the inclusion of these students in the NCCD;</li><li>Proven proficiency in working with teachers to collaboratively design, implement and evaluate Personalised Education Plans inclusive of realistic and achievable student goals;</li><li>Proven ability to provide support for students using a variety of strategies including case management, in-class support, team teaching, and small group intervention;</li><li>Excellent communication skills including the capacity to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, families, and external professionals </li><li>Experience in using digital technologies and effective pedagogies;</li><li>High level of competency managing data input for school-based and other agency requirements;</li><li>Open to learning, passionate, dedicated and committed to supporting students to achieve their full potential.</li></ul>
