St Bede’s Catholic College Chisholm is seeking a permanent 35 hours per week School Officer to join our school community commencing in Term 1, 2022. St Bede’s Catholic College, in the recently established suburb of Chisholm, is a new co-educational Catholic secondary school that is part of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. The College opened in 2018 and will eventually cater for 1,100 students in Years 7 to 12. In 2022 the College will have approximately 700 Year 7-11 students, with the first Year 12 cohort to graduate in 2023. The key components that drive the development of the school are Courage, Knowledge, Community and Faith. These components align to the four domains of the College’s Strategic Plan – Catholic Formation and Mission, Learning and Teaching, Leadership, Wellbeing and Partnerships. <p> The School Officer – Administration Level 4 provides Office and student services support. Tasks include: <br>• Maintaining Student Records via Compass <br>• Typing and preparation of documents <br>• Administration support for staff <br>• Ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of the processes within the College <br>• Excellent organisational skills <br>• Working in Student Services which involves face to face positive interactions with students. The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, preventing those in our care from suffering abuse or neglect. The Diocese is committed to being compliant with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards. All employees are required to undergo a National Police Check, retain a valid NSW Working with Children Check and ensure compliance with our safeguarding policies, the Diocesan Safeguarding Commitment Statement and the Codes of Conduct. </p> <h3>Essential Criteria:</h3> <p> • Supporting the Catholic ethos of the College. <br>• Highly developed word processing and literacy skills, with experience using Microsoft Office Suite <br>• Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively as a member of a team <br>• Positive and engaging interpersonal skills <br>• Flexibility in responding appropriately to the diverse nature of staff, students, and parents <br>• Ability to meet competing priorities and deadlines <br>• Current Working with Children number (must be recorded on application) <br>• An understanding and commitment to maintain a high level of confidentiality. </p> <h3>Desirable Criteria:</h3> <p> • Knowledge and experience of the Compass System. <br>• First aid certificate </p> <h3>Renumeration:</h3> <p> Salary is in accordance with New South Wales &amp; Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020. </p> <h3>Additional Info:</h3> <p> To apply: • Please address your resume, a cover letter addressed to the Principal, John Murphy, and a supporting document explicitly addressing the position requirements and criteria.
