South Island School seeks to appoint a part-time Global Thinking teacher, to teach the interdisciplinary unit within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). Schemes of work and unit plans are very well developed for this programme: therefore, whilst previous experience of teaching IBMYP would be an advantage.

<p><b>Job Description </b></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities </b></p><p>South Island School seeks to appoint a part-time Global Thinking teacher, to teach the interdisciplinary unit within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). Schemes of work and unit plans are very well developed for this programme: therefore, whilst previous experience of teaching IBMYP would be an advantage, this would also suit a teacher with experience of teaching a range of different middle school subjects, and/or a teacher with significant pastoral experience. </p><p>The position will commence in January 2022 and will be initially for 6 months until June 2022, with the possibility of contract renewal by mutual agreement thereafter. This is a part time role of approximately 65% pro rota. </p><p>Please note that this role is only open to applicants who are already Hong Kong residents. Completion of the Hong Kong teacher registration process will also be required if this has not been already completed. </p><p><b>The Role </b></p><p>The successful applicant will be a highly skilled teacher, with the ability to motivate, inspire and engage with students in creative and innovative ways, both within and outside the classroom, working towards our overall goal of ensuring excellent educational outcomes for all of our students. </p><p>Please note that the role includes teaching Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) programmes, including Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), as well as on occasion managing and organising physically active lessons outside of the classroom. </p><p>Teachers at SIS are expected to be committed and flexible.
